Coming back to the question, yes, you can add a wallpaper behind the television, go for a textured wallpaper as it will create a compliment to your television. As you have decorated with wooden elements, you can go with a bookshelf on the wall. And, there is one more thing which will be a simple addition but will look perfect and that is an antique wall clock. An antique wall clock will make your wall look great without any fuss.

I would love to live in sooo many other places, however my one favourite is the Pacific North West. Gorgeous mountains, trees, people, lakes....my kind of heaven! @chaddesdengirl, you sound like you live near me! I am in the same area you described. It is gorgeous here any time of the year, and the wineries with their autumn foliage on the vines sure look pretty. Mist coming over the mountains, is always beautiful.

If you can't change the purple blinds, try and tie them in with layered cream, beige and chocolate brown bedding. A natural wicker style light fitting with matching side lamps. Above the bed, perhaps a large wicker wreath with a few sprigs of lavender (real or not) threaded throughout. If there's room, a chair painted or covered. With the chair you could choose floral or striped, as long as there's Browns, 'soft mauve' with touches of lemon. At the foot of the bed, you can purchase a cheap polyester doona, cut it in half and dye it the required colour. I've done this and it works well. for such a big room there is little wall space and i would make sure every window and external door has a specific view and sized to suit the purpose especially the double sliding doors facing west without any obvious screening...my suggestion would be to arrange the furniture facing towards north views, fire place and TV with storage for dinnerware, glasses, tablecloths etc and as you don't appear to want a pantry to work in i've also added some ideas for your pantry, storage and laundry and don't forget skylights to make windowless rooms brighter
