What colour should we paint our house?
Comments (20)Hi Erin Both look like they will work. I think your challenge will be to bring some depth to the front of the house . With the colour being uniform its quite flat, so I would suggest adding some awnings to the front windows. These could also be a nice feature on the front of the house adding your personality. http://www.icietla.com.au in Brisbane sell some beautiful stripes. The other option was to have a base and top scheme that helped the building look a little lighter. A great transformation which ever way you go....See MoreWhat colour should I paint my new home?
Comments (15)Hi Sue, I think the wall colour (white looks like an white/off white) is lovely. It’s neutral and light, and will be the best back drop for any soft furnishings. I would suggest maybe updating some of your furniture. Your sofas look in good condition, so re-upholstering to change the colour may be a expensive option. in a bid to save some money, perhaps updating your rug to a lighter/more neutral pattern/colour (look at armadillo rugs) is a better option. Also updating your dining setting (perhaps something with chair upholstery to compliment the sofa, and even a large light coloured marble top) to be more contemporary and in keeping with your lounge suite would be the way to go. My clients often find it difficult to part with certain pieces that hold sentimental value, but often a new home requires a furniture update. In summary, I’m not convinced changing wall colour will be able to link all your furniture together. Stick with one piece that works well (ie. the sofa) and work towards updating the rest. Good luck!...See Morewhat colours should we paint our house?
Comments (2)There is an abundance of whites/light grey around. Windspray is a Colorbond colour and looks really good. Timeless Grey is also quite good nice. Shale grey is very pale almost white and again really good looking. My suggestion to a client is to choose something else aside from grey however. Unless there aren't any grey houses close by of course. We all seem to be a bit 'safe' with our colour choices which is unfortunate. My own house is grey but when I did it there were no other grey houses around.... anywhere! One of my clients went with 'Poppy Pink' another went with 'Vanessa Mae'. Fabulous colours without being eye searing. Unfortunately I don't have any good pictures....See Morewhat colour wall paint? I’m going white around the shutters.
Comments (1)Really hard to tell. I like the lightest one but I'm not very adventurous. You may need to choose one and paint a larger area and see what you think....See MoreLEWIS & KLADDER
