How to furnish a small oblong kitchen/dining/living space
Comments (1)I would pop a buffet along the window by the front door & then a rectangle dining table in front of that. There are a few layouts you could do tv/ lounge wise but in the interest of entertaining & also watching tv whilst preparing meals.... I would put the tv on the wall opposite the built in cupboards - not right where the aerial point is though, closer along the wall towards the bedroom door. Then I'd have an L shape configuration of lounges (either a corner lounge or two lounges) with the back of one along the side wall (the wall you look at as you come in the front door), & the other with its back to the built in cupboards (obviously with enough room to open the doors behind it still. Then define the area with a rug etc...See MoreModernist Home Extension Maximising Indoor/Outdoor Lifestyle

Comments (12)metal posts can be bolted to the concrete floor with a metal bracket called a "stirrup" there's a brand called Uni-pier with multiple sizes available at the major hardware stores and then attach sections of plastic lattice (friendlier for attaching plants) ...make sure the posts are installed at standard distances to suit the size of the panels..eg four panels 1200 wide x 2400 tall installed between 5 posts would allow for a wide doorway at one end or two panels could be installed horizontally between three posts with gaps at the top and bottom with a line of big oblong shaped pots for climbing plants and wall hung pots could be attached to the lattice...See MoreHow to maximise master wardrobe space
Comments (5)Hi Louise, This robe sounds to me like heaps of space. Yes I get that it is a walk thru from bedroom to ensuite which I really like as it adds an extra level of privacy to ensuite. at 1740 wide it allows plenty of width for shelves and hanging all down one side with NO dead corners. depending how high ceilings are try three hanging rails above each other for shirts, blouses and summer/winter clothes and the monkey suits, ball gowns!! Some long hanging each and shelves...sounds to me as tho there will be plenty of room. I like Dr Retro's comments: toss out before moving is cheaper than building more robe. Also make sure the racks and shelves can take the weight. I have seen the pull down racks but they are very heavy to push up and think a step stool and fixed rods better for the few occasions you might use it. With that length and scope you may not need three rungs. Interested to see how you go...Cheers Margot...See MoreDavid Soliman
