Comments (2)Nice of you to put such specific consideration into their needs! I would think that timber blinds or white timber blinds (venetians, which are much cheaper than shutters, but can look just as good. Because they are easy to clean, but mostly because teens tend to hide out in their room, sometimes this turns into a cave and they don't really care about opening the blinds each morning, also, they are particularly concerned about their privacy and sense of space, having blinds means they won't ever look messy and the most you have to do is open them up, and if they are tilted a Articular way, they still provide them a private blockout while letting the directional light in. I would also do a timber floor for a both, as they are likely to traipse in wearing shoes that of course are full of stuff from their adventures. They play sports, may spend time outdoors and timber floors scan be easily cleaned, carpets are ruined. As for a girl, if she has different interests, or spends time in her room often, a carpet rug on a timber floor. Rugs can personalize a space, so they have some saying the decor, and easily replaced, maintaining your timber floors beneath, while providing warmth and comfort. Even if covered mostly by furniture, the edge of a rug underfoot will feel more comfortable than not....See MoreNeed help with paint colour for bedroom
Comments (10)Hi, thanks to everyone. My son is a teenager. He finds "temple" too depressing/cold so I think I will take your advice - go with a light colour. The temple does look good against the red bedhead and the current bedlinen! Luckily, he is over the poster stage and is happy to have photos and frame prints on his walls. Sadly, the trophies still need to be on display collecting dust! I might just do the grey pebble in full strength or do you a feature wall is worth doing?...See MoreNeed help with paint colour for North facing bedrooms
Comments (22)Thanks everyone for your comments! Currently I have old furniture and accessories that I am going to update, so you could say I am starting with a blank canvas. I have a white chest of drawers and most of my furniture is white. I am not a lover of brown or cream at all, hence why I want to update! Looking for a crisp room that pops against white trims I guess. No real 'mood' in mind. I didn't really want white ceiling, walls and floor with white furniture. But on the other hand, I didn't want the room so dark you don't want to enter! Most of my accessories in the house are bright colours, like blues, greens and pinks etc. (think fun bright colours). I'm going to try some more sample pots this week....See MoreNeed help with extension. Adding master bedroom with ensuite and WIR.
