What to put in dining room

I would like to replace the lamp Table but with what? It’s there at the moment to hide the cords of the tv.

You can choose chairs either to match the curve of the table or the diagonal, chunkiness of the legs. Though that timber is going to be difficult to match. I'd go metal. You can contrast it with slim legs or go with the chunkiness .

Hi Jayrees, I totally agree with what Kat had to offer, I would suggest a non geometric pattern on the rug as the floor is already geometric, a light colour and subtle pattern if you prefer a pattern. The mirror should definitely be moved and I would consider a large light print to compliment the new rug and and drapes. It's a pity that the window screen blocks the view (it's a nice view) but the heavy screen is a necessity these days, I would remove the stickers from the glass to help with the openness. Just noticed that you have an air con in the room so you may be able to remove the screen.

I wouldn't make any suggestions without seeing pictures , and knowing about the load bearing structures -- anything can be worked around , but if it costs $100k to get rid of the hallway , for example , it won't achieve much extra space or light IMO . One thought though -- did you consider swapping the dining with the family room -- at a quick look you may be able to open that wall at the right of the kitchen easy , by disguising existing load-bearing uprights as part of a breakfast bar , for example ? Just a thought on a potentially cheaper option .

if you like the new furniture it it will match your style and if it's your taste in your home it will look great but another option could be bookshelves (eg shorter across the whole wall or just under the TV in the middle and tall bookshelves at the sides) in similar coloured timber or black like the TV or wall or architrave colours with or without doors (check IKEA Billy for inspiration) but depends on what you would like to store (and keep in mind that natural timber all have colour variations and if you check your dining chairs and table you will see colour variation despite being made out of the same timber)

Great suggestions from oklouise, you could go with a buffet, it doesn’t need to be same as table and chairs, look for different styles and design, or incorporating your tv into a wall with shelving could look fabulous , add a bit of strip lighting for a fab look.
