Help with laundry/bathroom layout
Comments (4)also for safety having a back door is essential in case of fire etc. Make sure the door is an exterior grade one to keep "night visitors" out. I've seen laundries housed in cabinets...the firsts suggestion sounds nice but i haven't seen your floor plan layout. is that double laundry sink your bathroom vanity as well? maybe get the washer hardware happening inside (and preferably an under bench model for more bench space and an integrated look), and choose a farmhouse design sink. choose all white and grey tones. best of luck....See MoreHelp with laundry/bathroom layout
Comments (22)Hi. This is the existing plan. Entrance is currently at front up four stairs (house on stumps). Or via back door on ground level that goes into current ground floor laundry. From laundry you walk up four steps into current dining. We are a family of five. Kids are now 8,6,4 - two youngest are in long side bedroom (has angled roofline), master bedroom is front middle room and oldest child is in bedroom that joins existing dining room. Kitchen is in the middle of the house (there’s a window to laundry from kitchen which would originally have been to outside before laundry enclosed and built in). We want to add another bedroom, deck and larger kitchen to cater for growing family but we are very limited with budget and need to do so smartly. House has high ceilings and VJ walls internally but fibro outside. Bathroom has been recently renovated. What we love about the house is that it is open and airy. We like smaller homes and those with a bit of character. TIA!...See MoreNew layout for Kitchen, Bathroom & Laundry
Comments (2)You’re shower space seems narrow ie less than 900mm wide?? There are great new instantaneous hot water systems that can fit on outside wall too so free up internal space Have you gone to a bathroom place ? Some have specialist bathroom designers. So knocking down storage cupboard wall sounds good and have awning window above laundry bench and I’d prob integrate laundry into bathroom or perhaps could have bifold doors in front if want to shut off mess from any visitors and vanity can stick out more ie be deeper so have more storage else keep narrow and narrow full length wall cupboards on back wall. Play with boxes to work out how far things can stick out without interfering with the flow of movement you like...See MoreLaundry/bathroom layout and reno advice please
Comments (19)@AAB That Ikea one looks like it has good dimensions from above, but I think you'd find 20cm too shallow to double as a useful laundry tub. If you could find one that was twice that depth… I did encounter such a sink in a long-stay apartment hotel I stayed in recently. The bathroom was fitted out with a combined washer-dryer unit and the "basin" – while styled aesthetically like a bathroom basin and oval in shape as well as rounded in cross-section – was really big. You could have washed a large baby in it! So clearly that kind of thing is available. It did require a fairly deep vanity to mount it in, but that was there to accommodate the depth of the washer-dryer anyway. The only thing with a deep vanity is you absolutely need to mount the mirror on a cabinet to bring it forward, not directly on the wall. If you don't do that anyone who is short and/or short-sighted has a hard time using the mirror for practical purposes such as shaving, inserting contact lenses, or applying makeup. (Yes, I discovered this during my hotel stay too!)...See Moreoklouise
