I think the room is absent colour and pattern.
The brick slips do it but you could also add colour and pattern with paint, wallpaper, a blind or rug

What a lovely bright Kitchen! I think you just need to add a bit of contrast perhaps a colour like green or blue to reflect your view outdoors. Maybe some tiles to add a bit of texture. Brick slips can look good but I think you need to consider what colour bricks your house is made from and also because you have a window, it can be difficult to make them look good in the window reveal. Absolutely gorgeous space and it won't take much to bring it to live. I would choose a lovely dark colour for that wall, I agree with green to reflect the outside would be nice choose a rich sludgy one as its plenty light and it can take it. The run some shelves underneath your tv, as many as you can fit, make them floating so no extra brackets on show, then add some green plants, a stack of cookbooks , a few bowls and kitchen items which you use daily, a couple of chunky candlesticks with candles at the ready so you can pop them on the table every day, and make each meal a little more special ( you may already do this) . It will really give you what you are looking for as your kitchen is already fabulous.

Lovely kitchen that just needs some colour. Love Monica’s suggestion of darker walls and more plants etc to bring it to life. I think green walls would be fab, as would darker grey or navy walls. My kitchen is a mini version of yours. My walls are mint green and a navy feature wall, with green tiling. I’m thinking of painting it a more definite, darker green, but I’ll leave the navy wall as I love it. I’ll post a photo of mine and some ideas separately as having problems uploading photos and text together. Oh and don’t worry about tv, its your home.

I agree with what others have said here.

To me it could look a little more ‘lived in’. It’s almost too tidy atm.

Perhaps one or two good sized (functional) accessories on the surfaces would help as well.

And perhaps a substantial vase with (or without) flowers.

It just needs an injection of colour to stop it looking too cream. I’d paint all the walls or even one in a mega contrast colour.

Lovely space I love how light and bright it is. I feel as per the above suggestions that it needs a strong dark colour to ground the space.

Analysis first:

1) with a window on each wall the walls need to be kept light or there will be "glare" from too much contrast.

2) the cupboards are a yellow tinted white but the floor and worktop seem to be a red tinted white. This is a clash and whats fundamentally displeasing.

3) the cupboard handles are too fussy and contrasty. Again displeasing.

Solution: Walls in a white with a hint of red such as Farrow and Ball Roman white.

Dark cupboard joinery as Patrinas image above. You can get them sprayed with any colour you like by a specialist spray paint firm, ideally off site, with extremely durable paint, colour matched (match to real painted colour samples, not printed swatch colours as they are inaccurate)

Another option is to replace the worktop and use the same colour for cupboards and walls, with contrasting elements, as the kitchen in this link below (click on the images to run through to see the kitchen specific ones. This would be my preference because it keeps the areas near the windows light, but adds the contrast in other items like an island or peninsula unit that appears to be in the right foreground.

Fantastic tips here from everyone.. the units are a bit of a cream white and the floor is light beige marble.I think i am going to box in the tv and make a wall of floating shelves, put some plants and nice vase to add interest. I would love to change the doors at some stage but the units are only 5 years old.

In every room in a bungalow you can be "living in the garden" and close to nature.

If the windows have high cills knock them down to the ground under the same lintol. No structural work required. Here's a before and after by us that got rid of the "sink under the window" syndrome:

A bungalow can also be contemporary as our examples here show.
