Framing is an art unto itself. Vincent Van Gogh's wealthy brother was a framer. I suggest, just as with any design choice, you talk to friends and relatives to get hooked up with a local pro. They will help and guide you toward a frame that compliments and enhances the art while working with your personal style. I typically pay three to four times as much for framing than I did for the art it surrounds...my framer is also an artist and I have commissioned a few of her pieces, the most recent a collaboration on a collage. My materials, her eyes and hands...and frame.
