your front door is a very traditional Colonial 6 panel door. i would stick with that inside, or you could go with a full panel door (single raised panel) for a less formal look. you can get matching doors with mirrors (bedroom), chalkboard (pantry) or frosted glass where the panel is. consider using solid doors to deaden sounds instead of lightweight hollowcore doors. http://www.simpsondoor.com/products/product_lines/chalkboard.asp

We are doing a new kitchen with antique white shaker cupboards & drawers and I'm thinking a painted, pressed metal splashback behind a free standing 90cm heritage style electric cooker and the subway tiles elsewhere. We are doing an oiled natural shaped huon pine slab for the main benchtop.

Bigger doors are perfect as a statement but also to move large furniture in; Pivot doors look fantastic but watch out for kids arms getting caught in the gap; once they start closing hard to stop at the short end!
