Hi clikmania, Mealamine is a versatile material to use and can look great when used well. The trick is to make use of some of the wonderful textures and colours available. Even though you've said you'd prefer one colour I think the layout of your kitchen lends itself perfectly to 2 different colours. I suggest having the tall cabs (including the pantry, in a lighter colour similar to the walls and then the lower cabinets under the bench in a darker colour that co-ordinates with the benchtop colour. As you dont have overhead cabinets I also suggest taking the tiles up to the ceiling around the rangehood. You don't need to go over the window though.This will give the illusion of height and the 2-tone will help to balance the shape of the room. If you're in Australia you're welcome to post your wall colour and I can make some suggestions for Melamine and bench colours. The pic below of a recent project is not a galley kitchen but thought it might give the idea of 2-tone...also, the island bench is one of the fabulous melamines I mentioned.

Lea, I got them from the Dulux website. I screenshot certain colours, then posted them to thread. Of course, it’s always best to get sample pots and try your selections where you will be using them...need to see them in all lighting and in combination with each other. You may want to speak with a colour consultant at a good paint shop; they are very knowledgeable and helpful. Also, lots of great articles on Houzz. Dulux whisper white. Get a sample pot, paint a large piece of cardboard and see for yourself.

Hi Myriam so it sounds like you have decided on white cabinets, I agree that there are many shades of white and its imperative that you consider the undertone, as some will throw yellow and others blue or pink. A warm white is 'Dulux natural white not stark. Another white worth considering is Dulux Whisper white. Light also has a huge impact on colour that being natural or artificial light, good idea to pick up some sample chips from the local hardware or paint store and hold them in the room where the kitchen will be to gain perspective on how the white will look. The 2 whites I have suggested are very safe whites that should look fantastic regardless. This kitchen I used whisper white cabinets and walls are painted natural white (bulkhead) main island bench has a marble Calcutta Oro slab although different to Nobel grey gives you an idea of a "marble affect with the colour of the cabinets).
