True, if they want frou frou, then definitely go for something else, these sinks are more space design oriented and for the environmentally responsible, but not necessarily pretty. A woman using them may find it unattractive & maybe even uncomfortably odd. But personally, as a man, using a powder room full of scented candles and lace makes me feel the same way! Ha! I would've agreed with you a month ago about the wallpaper & only reason I suggested it was I recently used that exact one at a dinner party (where one of the owners was an interior designer! But maybe that means braver with risks?) I actually found instead of having the size make an impression, I was busy being wowed by the wallpaper, it WAS overwhelming, but in a pleasant way that made such an impression I remembered it for this post! Anyways, it's fun to hear everyones suggestions! cheers!

a second toilet is always a good thing but do you have any plans for other improvements? where's the laundry is it under the house? ....always best to consider whole house improvement before investing in expensive plumber...maybe there's space for an ensuite or??..

I have struggled with these same questions. i have asked for advice from tradespeople, tile sellers, researched many bathrooms by designers and have come to the conclusion that it is ultimately what you personally will be happy with, unless you intend to sell your place in next 5 years. I am told that tiles are the most expensive thing to change if you wish to change the look but tap fittings etc is easy. I think as Kate said, you want to keep something in common across all bathrooms . I have seen one bathroom design change the terrazzo colour from one bathroom to another. If you have the space, accessories can also provide links to the bathrooms... eg towels, Knick knacks, lights etc

I'd take a more 'logical' approach . first question -- how many people live there , and how many will want to watch TV or talk at any one time ? In other words , do you need seating for 7 ? Do you have any other furniture for this room ? I'd be inclined to start with either a 3 seater and 2 chairs ( especially if the matching 2 seater is relatively easily vailable i.e. are you buying from a larger chain store ? ) . Otherwise get the matching couches , and see how often you need to bring chairs in from the dining or similar . And I'm a big fan of wallpapered feature walls -- they add colour , interest and texture IMO if done well , moreso than anything else $ for $ .
