Size of Garden - what is considered a good size?

Hello everyone!

So, we have finally chosen a house design that we like. Initially, we were torn between getting a bigger house (28.74sq) or a slightly smaller one (26.42sq). But eventually we settled on getting the smaller house plan thinking we would be left with just a decent sized yard (3-4m x 14m long). However, it turned out that we would be getting a 5.6m x 14m backyard. Much bigger than we have expected! We’ve never had a backyard before so the idea of having a decent space to move/do gardening/etc seems very appealing. BUT... we also understand that the bigger the backyard, the more time/money we need to spend on gardening. We are both working full-time so really not sure how this will work for us. The backyard is also facing the south, I read that a south facing garden is not very ideal.

So, a backyard of 5.6m x 14m, too big or just nice? What do you think?

Just a background info about us, we are not planning to have a big family, probably just 1 or 2.

Please share us your thoughts and help is decide! Thank you in advance.
