Advice on floor plan options

Hello,

I'm hoping for some advice on our floor plans please. I have a couple of layout options saved into idea books here:

Option 1 provides more symmetry in the upstairs bedrooms and separation with wardrobes between the two rooms. This option builds over the first few steps of the staircase leading up from the floor below. The main issue is that the hallway on the ground floor travels under the last few stairs at the top above so that it will be lower head height than the rest of the hall (which will be 2700mm high elsewhere). The tv/study can be squared off in this version. In Option 2 the TV/Study and hallway is angled around the stairs - note that the stairs run the oposite direction in this option.

I'm hoping to please hear thoughts or suggestions on either set of plans and preferences between the two you may have.

A couple of comments on the plans - the backyard faces north. We are a family of two adults and two children. We're hoping to allow for accessbile use of the ground floor (for visitors and aging in place). I know the pantry is very big - its a product of the space that's available behind the stairs. It will be used as a general store room as well as pantry.

Thanks in advance for your ideas.
