How do I make the most of this bedroom ceiling?
Comments (20)Thanks for these great ideas. The quilting in the sofa would be a great reflection of the ceiling. I love the Japanese screen on the Living Room wall. Would something like that need a more opulent frame as suggested by AMN. The current curtains are quite a rich Thai silk fabric in a bronze colour. They seem a bit dark for the ceiling. I prefer carpet in the bedroom for warmth underfoot in winter. What colour would work with this scheme? Should we go lighter to brighten the room or darker?...See MoreBedroom at back of house or not? study or ensuite conversion?
Comments (24)Do you have any other access to the backyard? Lane at the rear etc? If not... I like your plans but I wonder if you will miss the access down the driveway. Possibly a problem should you sell later on, or should you need to bring large amounts of materials etc into the rear yard. I'd think about using the front of the house for all the bedrooms. Possibly the sun starved middle room for the master suite. Extending it though to the room you have marked as pantry. I can't see the dimensions, so I hope it's big enough. And use all the rear space, minus the bump out, as living. You could maybe pull the kitchen into the centre, looking out to the yard, pantry + laundry behind it against the for mentioned bedroom. Splitting the living area up a little. And giving you much more living space....See MoreHow should I furnish this area of my bedroom?
Comments (7)You could buy a lovely bedroom comfy chair with a little side table for a reading nook if you just feel like relaxing with good light, I liked kiwimills suggestion of a day bed with storage, or you could make storage, cupboard for shoes built in if you wanted then add plants or nick nacks on the top of the cupboard for texture and designer look, if you are like me, you never have enough room for shoes!!...See MoreHelp! How should we style a bedroom for a house sale?
Comments (17)I agree with turning the bed parallel with the window. Bedside ‘tables’ can be a repurposed stool, and or a chair borrowed from another room. White bed linen in Queen size is ideal for a single bed giving it a luxe look and can be used after you sell. (A Queen doona with white cover will luxuriate the bed more) A painting above the bed with a throw at the foot in a colour taken from the painting, will complete the look. All the best with your sale!...See MoreKate
