I think the colour used on these cabinets is great. This is a colour which is unlikely to unsettle anyone who sees it and is teamed with very neutral walls and furnishings. This room looks modern, with a little retro or Scandinavian twist.I believe that if you really love a particular colour, why not use it as a colour block on cabinets. Just keep the main elements in the room neutral and the accent colours to a minimum, like the orange accent used here.

I would personally stick to white cabinets... I know, not very original... but I think white works best with timber benchtops... and black/white/timber is a fail-proof/timesless combo imo... But if you wanted to inject a bit of colour... and based on your coastal theme description... then I would suggest maybe duck egg blue?... do a search of "duck egg blue kitchen" in photos on Houzz AU

Hi, paint cabinets white, off white, deep navy blue, greige or moderately dark grey. two tone would also look ok - light/white on top, darker on bottom. Maybe choose paint based on other colours used in house. Please do not paint sage!!!! replace the cabinet handles with modern chrome T handles or similar. Replace curtain with white venetian. paint/cover brick. get rid of brick next to stove and replace with a panel. tile paint tiles white and extend to behind stove. or get creative and add a nice geometric feature tile that compliments the colours behine stove and exhaust fan. put down some cheap water proof wood look laminate click flooring. consider adding same geometric print to breakfast bar and add a couple of cute high stools from kmart or ebay. Change fan to chrome or spray paint silver. replace beam light with pendant light, maybe glass to be safe or something that is modern, meracrtor is good brand, or even just a modern round oyster type light. Love white cabinetry and would do bench top in white too. Think with the peachy cream floor and sandy beige walls, adding a 3rd colour might be too much. And if you make the cabinets and benchtop in similar shades to walls or floor, it might be beige overload! A white might lift it. Maybe post a pic of the floor so we can see how peachy or creamy it is.
