@Rachael It's a dilemma, isn't it?! Our house in the bush has ended up with anodised window frames and galvanised iron cladding (i.e. silver that will dull to grey) with a Monument roof. The view is huge and I think the black window frames - while I love them would have looked too urban and have framed the view too much, if that's possible. The view is so big we wanted to look 'through' the windows and their frames. Also, as I said above, dusty exterior window ledges would have driven us nuts. However, if I were in an urban setting, I would have gone for black windows and the dark roof if my views were more intimate. Good luck with the decision making ...

Why wouldn't you just have them set/sealed so you don't need any trim (like the very first photo)? We have many of these sorts of windows in our house, and most rooms are trimmed with architraves BUT in the public rooms we opted to have "trim-less" doors and windows to match the square set walls/ceiling.

Hey All, we are building a Modern Industrial/Hampton style home, we have Basalt roof down on our Basix, black windows, reclaimed bricks on the lower level and will be having white weatherboard for the upper level. We are thinking of Black gutters and down pipes as we can’t match them to the walls so thought we would make them stand out. Oh, also we are having exposed rafters and paneling in white. Anyone have any thoughts or advice?
