I assume this is the start of a makeover ? Not being too rude , but it looks like most areas need some work .

I only said that because IMO you need to get an overall plan of what you are wanting to do , and the look you are going for . For example , the door Dr Retro posted is great , and would suit your place ( especially as it looks quite beachy ) but if you are going to repaint the upstairs terrace in mission brown , and the garage doors in fluro orange , and then do the columns in marble , it mightn't work as well as you hoped haha .

Are you going similar style , more upmarket , more modern , more beachy ? That will determine everything , including the door style and colour . In fact , I'd probably be inclined to start elsewhere , leaving the door choice for later .

In fact , to get myself motivated , I'd be tempted to sand back and paint the surrounds ( they look like natural timber ) in black , do the door in your favourite colour , whether it be that blue of Dr Retro's , or a bright red or subdued burgundy or shocking pink -- whatever YOU like ! The shape in the door will add some interest , and it should motivate you to do the rest , THEN you can put in a new door in a couple of years or whatever your plan is .

I think the door has had it day lol I like symmetry but it won’t work with the internal stairs behind it . Thanks everyone I’m not sure what to do . The double door idea is great but we would have to open the door the opposite way to what it is Now .

Inside is worse 🤪 if I never see mission brown again I will be happy . We are eventually going to replace roller door with a white one

Is this your house , or a beach house ? That inside shot is 'okay' -- I quite like the stairs ( although I suspect it would need side protection to meet regulations ) and the tiles and wall is okay in small doses haha .

Without knowing the condition of anything , or what upstairs external looks like , I'd be tempted to pick a colour ( like the blue , or a red or orange or green that suits ) and do the front of the terrace , the garage door and the entrance door in that , and probably keep going and do gutters and other trim .

Then I'd get black or charcoal , do the door and window frames in it , as well as the supports , any fences , etc .

$200-300 of paint , plus labour ( free if you do it yourself) will give a fresh look , then start on the inside haha , or add suitable landscaping -- flax and cactus and lancewoods , maybe a big glazed pot in your chosen colour with a plant or 17 .

I would keep the door with the same set up. But re hinge the door to open the other way.

install new glass panels, either obscure glass or clear glass.

at the moment with the door hinged on the stair side it makes the entry way compromised.

change the door hinges and you will have an open entry, not blocked.
