Good idea

At a quick look , that product you have there is designed for the cables to the printer , etc . A laptop plug will poke through from underneath , but things like the 'jug cord' that powers your monitors wont by the looks of it , so you'll end up powering them from the 'top of desk' multiboards . A bit messy , so basically you haven't achieved much .

You can get plastic or metal grommets ( 60mm or so in diameter ) that are probably as good . As Kate says , get things that group cords together ( cable ties or those snake looking bits of plastic are good ) .

Some other advice -- depending on what you are doing , and even if 2 or 3 are working on the same topics or totally independent :

-- have 2 computers per person , but 1 larger ( 32 inch ) monitor per person , and have them hot-swappable ( normally a key on your keyboard switches between computers ) . I know a lot of people go the other way , and have 2 monitors and swap Windows , but I like 2 seperate computers especially if working on 2 projects .

-- hardwire printers rather that WiFi or Bluetooth -- mind you , that depends how many computers and projects you are using , also whether you have 1 computer set up as a server .

-- If 2 or more people are working on the same project , and you have the wall space , have a 42 or 50 inch TV on the wall , with HDMI , as a potential monitor . TV's aaren't as good picture quality as computer monitors , but I find they are handy for getting projects up for several people to look at , or failing that , playing You Tube videos or Netflix or music videos or whatever , even if the sound is turned down .

I would spend a bit extra and install something nicer. See photos of our metal cable hole insert which covers the hole, but can be removed for getting those cables through.

We have a desk 3700 long, with three access points for cables for printer,modem,lamp and computers. This is our office, for our business, which has always been at home. I previously had two PC computers with tower, hence the inbuilt cabinetry, but have upgraded to two, All In One HP desktop computers. Less cables and all wifi.

Storage drawers for paperwork and stationery inbuilt. File storage on opposite wall.

the desk is 700mm high, and 750mm deep.

the laminate top is attached to a piece of wood that has been screwed into the wall.

also the middle drawers keep it very secure.

i have included a photo of underside of bench showing wooden support.

We have a cable shelf under our desk, (approx 100mm below bench) and we’ve used the same cable covers, the powerpoints are at the same height as the cable shelf, so everything is out of sight

I was going to fix my desk in my new study along wall but had a spare desk so made use of that. Glad I did as now I’m working from home on zoom hearings all day I have turned the desk to face the door so if someone walks in they are not picked up by the camera.
