You are most welcome, this gives total privacy for using the toilet, going by my measurements it should work, the wall between vanity and toilet could be tiled. Did you take on board my suggestion to split the door in half vertically so that you have two smaller doors of the same design as the rest of the house, we have done this in the past. I was going to suggest that your door be made into a sliding barn door on the passage wall but not sure what is next to the bathroom doorway. You also get a bigger shower, Wasn't sure of total window size. if it wasn't for it you could do Japanese style bath shower with both opposite each other and totally open but then there's the toilet cheers

For storage, I used a mirrored lift up cupboard door above the sink area in my very small ensuite with some success. We put power points inside the cupboard too - it was a very good place to have them as the door lifts up & is out of the way. I also used some of the wall space to allow slightly deeper shelves, without the cupboard jutting so far into the room. The cistern was recessed into the wall cavity, (in our case below the window) & it worked well to save a little space in the room. Photos are not very good, but I hope you can get the idea.. It worked very well. The ensuite was 1mx2m. We use vertical towel rails. They're really good & very compact, but do make sure the electrician installs them up the right way. They work on the heat rising principal & do not work well upside down as ours were installed!Hope this is helpful. Good luck.

Thanks siriuskey for your design and comments. A bit of background would no doubt be useful, so apologies for this late addition to the discussion. The house will accommodate a reasonably fit and active retired couple in their 60s (us!). We have elderly Mums and expect that 1 of them will end up moving into the guest room/study (hence the desire to have a connection between this room and a shower/WC). We'd also like to be able to access the backyard and have visitors able to access the WC - although we accept that at times we can't have everything...although it's worth a shot! We've struggled with the layout of this space for some time now and picked our builder's brains, but so far no-one has been able to come up with a solution. Both oklouise and you prove that other options are out there.

Yes thank you for your thoughts. the room is 2.8 (with window) vs 3.4m. I do find it a bit annoying too as I don't like that you open the door and see straight away into the shower (though I'm certain the door would have a lock). I'm sure they lined the bath up to be with the window as visually that looks better, but then I find the space at the end annoying. I like the alternative drawings (I like three of them lots!) and I had been considering an drop in bath built wall to wall rather than a freestanding but also finding it frustrating to find a really nice supportive bath and there are less drop in baths than freestanding around at the moment which is a bit annoying. Thanks Anna for the picture, that helps as that looks good (though we would have more space at either end, 50cm) and I prefer the look of yours with some space but not as cavenous... I think I might have to have a talk with my husband as we really need to work out what to do!!
