Subway tiles, glass splasbacks, ??? what is the future style
Comments (5)Do you have any pictures? What do you consider your style? If you don't have pics what pictures capture what you are after? I was deciding myself between tile and glass and now considering mirror to bring in extra light. I've seen mirror a lot lately used as splashback even smoked or black mirror, so really depends on how you see warm modern as a style...See MoreSplashback, Glass or Tiles ?
Comments (3)Hi, a possible option would be the use of a porcelain sheet, they usually come in sizes around 3m x 1m so there would be no joints in your situation (making cleaning much easier compared to tiles as there is no grout). Comments (5)Yes, it would get quite bulky having the 2 layers. Glass also offers a different texture (smooth and shiny) to the tile which will have texture due to the grout lines. This could look a little odd if the tiles continue past the glass. If you're worried about staining the grout, ask your tilers about epoxy grout as this is nearly stain proof. Also, being new, tiles are much easier to maintain than old tiles and old grout. A simple wipe down after each use should do the trick. Otherwise, you can customise the art as (previously mentioned) which is usually printed to on the back of the glass or you could use a wallpaper behind to give the look of tiles. It's a little complicated to do but we have done it before ....See MoreJulie Herbert
