Main bedroom, Ensuite and WIR
Comments (16)www.allbuiltins.com.au I would suggest visiting some wardrobe company show rooms and display homes for ideas. You need to know what your needs are. For the walk in robe you want to have maximum storage that will suite your clothing, shoes hand bags etc. Take in to account what is worn more often? How much room do you need for long hanging for dresses and the like, Do you have a lot of business shirts or only tee shirts, suites generally need a bit more length to hang? Your height is also something that is overlooked, tall people may be disappointed with the industry standards for heights of top shelves, as long shirts will not fit well in double hanging, therefor the height of the top shelf may need to be raised to allow for more length in your double hanging. A top shelf should be no less than 1950mm high. New homes are often fitted with one top shelf at 1700 to 1800 high in the wardrobes, this is too low to include double hanging. Drawers may not be necessary in a walk in robes if you have a tall boy or chest of drawers in the bedroom. The walk in robe is best left for maximum hanging and shelves for hand bags shoes and foldable clothing, Some accessories like pull out pant racks can be an advantage but some just take up too much space. Comments (8)Thanks, oklouise. This is our only bath, so it needs to stay. The kitchen does not have lots of storage, so I was hoping to increase the size of the pantry a bit. Or to make it rectangle so that there is more storage. If I need to then I will take some space out of the lounge beside the kitchen. So the ensuite has a reasonable vanity, toilet, shower and bath. The pantry has the fridge in it as I am not keen on how it would look in the kitchen. But I am open to ideas. Deanne....See MoreHelp with main bedroom / WIR / ensuite floorplan please
Comments (12)Thank you so much for your comments and great ideas kiwimills , Pleased to Bijou Design , Leeder Interiors and oklouise . I agree with the door at the end of the bed being a better and more convenient position. Originally I had not included it there to access some of the light from the other window (obscure glass slider), and to avoid the feng shui coffin position with feet facing the door. On further reading I might be able to remedy it with a tall solid bed-end and blanket box/bench. I can see how walking through the WIR each time would be a pain. An alternate ensuite plan (below) as also suggested by Leeder Interiors. I wasn't sure if I had enough room for this... it would get me a larger vanity 1200+ rather than 900. Not sure however what: the recommended distances from the vanity front and toilet should be ? minimum width i need to have for the toilet space (between the wall and slider opening) ? If not, the extra bench space over the cistern also sounds like a good idea. Thank you...See MoreEnsuite and WIR design
Comments (9)Sorry for the late response, As requested I have drawn a different access showing a door between the WIR and Ensuite. I have also added more dimensions showing the spaces, you will see that the original WIR only has 700 walking space which is very narrow it also has two corners which can actually reduce good robe space Pocket sliding doors need a deeper wall space by using hinged or Barn doors this can be overcome, you would need to speak to your builder . My walls are all 100. The second floorplan is the same as you posted except I have made both robes equal, I have added an extra robe in the bedroom for you. I have moved the shower in the third plan without knowing anything about the style of the window, ie: hip height of tall and width, . This plan would also suit anyone who likes to watch TV in bed, it could be recessed into the bathroom wall...See MoreJordan Talia
