Which white? External render dilemma
Comments (26)Hi all, it's now 2020! I'm at render stage and would love it to be white but the renderer I spoke with this morning said to think long and hard about 'white! as it gets dirty very easily especially taking into account the recent dust-storm, not to mention the ash and smoke from the ongoing bushfires. I would like to know: how your respective white renders are coming along in regards to appearance, staining and maintenance; and what type of render and render finish do you have? I am looking at a sandy Rokcote acrylic render. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!...See MoreExternal Colour Decision - Ironstone next to Woodland Grey?
Comments (11)Hi Sara, I definitely agree with the other responses here; you cannot put Woodland Grey with Ironstone. If you like Woodland Grey choose warm green/brown colours to compliment such as, Surfmist, Dune, Pipe Clay. And for the fence consider going darker still such as Monument. Blackest Brown is also lovely but not as popular because, well, it's brown....See MoreColorbond Trimwall (Surfmist) Exterior Help Please!!
Comments (0)External underside Colorbond Trimwall (Surfmist) to be installed but need to decide on exterior paint colour for the house to complement the cladding in the Dulux range. I find Dulux Surfmist darker than I originally thought. To me, Surfmist paint seems to have quite a green/yellow tone to it, where I am after more of a white. Could anyone please recommend a paint colour that either matches the cladding or complements it? Thank you for any suggestions....See MoreWindows - Monument or Surfmist?

You said about the warmth of natural wood ( I assume mainly the interior ? ) , you have the terrace there , you could even do a timber batten 'windbreak' one side or the other of the terrace , or even 6 or 8 battens vertically at the 'right hand' end of the house , to create interest and balance ? I'm assuming it would be more ( maybe $5-10k for the whole house ) to go to timber windows instead of aluminium , but the look and the warmth would be worth considering IMO , and would really set off your place , especially from your description of the environment ....See MoreDebbie JAMES
