We just did a similar thing in our house. We had the orangeish timber skirting, doors and architraves. The walls were a very light beige. All the timber we painted white (dulux lexicon quarter), and went with a lovely grey on the walls (Taubmans zurich white). I was very happy with the white trim, I thnk if we had left it the house would still look dated. I agree, your slate floor is actually a really nice slate. A little tip when choosing paint colours is to get the sample pots and paint a really large piece of cardboard. The colour blocking just highlights the interesting features of the house. I know the charcoal will work and the Grand piano is just a warmer white. You will need a warmer white to complete the slate. Other suitable whites will be China white and maybe Whisper white. Too white will not work with slate. My father and brother are painters and I choose the colours, still colours are a very personal thing, that's why I'm suggesting the cardboard idea. Hope this helps.

Hi dani, your living/kitchen area is not huge, and you have three different finishes in your kitchen. I think that this is probably enough in the space, so I would definitely go with a warm, light, neutral that works with the colours in your overhead cupboards for all of the walls. You don't need a dramatic feature wall like your blue/grey wall in a smallish room. The wall colour should visually link the kitchen area to the rest of the space. Think understated and elegant...

I Agree with KK1000 & Julie - the navy blue will look fabulous. If you want to bring out the brown, consider it when selecting accessories; Julie's image is a great example of artwork in the space. I'd consider a feature light in either side of the basin if you have the room (its hard to tell from the photo) or perhaps above the mirror. The navy will be quite dark and you can add a bit of wow with a light as well as give some illumination for applying makeup etc from the right direction. Assuming of course that the shower will have a glass panel (to keep water away from any electrical fixtures)? Seek guidance from your electrical on the appropriate zones for elec fixtures and IP ratings suitable to the installation.
