Awkward bedroom nook!
We're ripping out this custom shelving that sits between the balcony door and the built-in wardrobes but that space is shallower than the wardrobes (only 480mm deep due to the window placement). I want the final look to be cohesive, include some storage (e.g. drawers for folded clothing), ideally with space for a TV and mirror - all in an effort to maximise the overall space - but I haven't been able to find any ideas online that work for this layout? Any suggestions on how to make this space work? And if you think I'm better off going down the custom joinery route, any idea what a ballpark cost would be - I'm 100% new to this!

Add a benchtop. Add some shelves above as desired. Can do from Bunnings or ikea etc or custom.

Comments (2)Seems like a generous space, but it does point to the bed being on that only back wall, it just means not much floor space to get around it. So side tables might be out. With these windows framing the corner, it would seem to me a nice focal point, and this is where I would have a chair, maybe a retro dames or Parker style chair and some large art on the bedhead wall. You could still fit a dresser or chest of drawers on the wall into the bathroom by the looks of things, tall narrow ones, and have hanging pendant lights either side of he bed. Comments (17)the main issue with the ens is the big window.. you could reverse the toilet and shower space but the shower towel rails wouldn't be so convenient and the potential wet floor in front of the shower is better away from the vanity, the generous bath space is not suitable for more than a small free standing bath so i've included a built in bath that can take advantage of the whole space, there's an enclosed toilet, generous shower and double vanity and room for a stacked wm and dryer and/or underbench washer and sink but taking space away from the ens for the extra wardrobe improves the bedroom but makes the ens too skimpy for the bath and laundry...See More
2 years agoWhy rip out something that is fit for purpose with a bit of tweaking. Find a cabinet maker to remove the central shelving. This will then give room for your tv, and a small mirror. Existing cabinetry can be painted to freshen up and new handles added. You already have mirrors on the wardrobe doors. Are you wanting to change the wardrobe doors as well? It is a waste of resources to rip inbuilt furniture out, and replace with something the same.

You could also ask a cabinet maker to add hinged doors to existing pigeon hole storage on the left.
