Comments (68)A suggestion that the professionals use and makes it SO much easier choosing colours - and then the perfect shade of that colour. Get a paint swatch of the Hog's Bristle - or paint a little sample card from leftover paint. Bring home 5 or 6 samples shades of navy from the paintshop to get the the closest shade/tone of navy to your couch. Armed with those - and a sample of your bench colour - hit the shops with confidence! You will see easily which yellow, or which Marsala or which 'whatever-colour-you-choose' looks great. There are many shades that might look like they work in the store, but when you get them home will be NQR,,,,you know, not quite right....and you still may not be thrilled with your room. It's a simple and almost foolproof way of choosing colour and has worked for me throughout many renovations.Couldn't do it without those little bits of colour! Have fun......See MoreVoid over fridge?
Comments (37)To Nicole K..OOOOOOH That sounds really classy! Why didn't anybody come up with that earlier on? I don't drink...but just for the decorator touch, if I had that fridge and that space, I'd get the calssiest alcohol shelving and fill it with the most elegant bottles available......suppose the real thing would cost a mint...so I'd hunt for the bottles and fill them with the appropriately coloured liquid...food colouring dye and water ought to do it. Maybe just one real bottle....my brandy for the upset tum. What a good idea!...See MoreDecor ideas for this cabinet nook
Comments (19)Agree with some of the ideas already mentioned of artwork (maybe 3 small framed prints or photos hung vertically given the light you intend to install?) to fill the wall space, tiered stand with fruit, cook books on one shelf and the other can be used for storing stationery, mail etc using a stacked set of drawers (some nice ones available at the stationery/office suppliers). You can hang removable hooks inside the door for keys. I'm not a fan of having "stuff" (papers, keys) on bench tops as it quickly turns into a dumping area and in a thoroughfare, things end up on the floor as people rush past. Best of luck - your kitchen is gorgeous by the way!!...See MoreHelp needed! Kitchen in void area dilemma
Comments (23)Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts. @siriuskey the pantry door is just for illustration and we have not got to the interior design details yet (next stage). We saw a kitchen at Pure Interiors where the walk in pantry door was concealed in the joinery in the sense it all flowed well together. But I will keep your suggestion in mind when we get to that stage. @appalachianhiker thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and suggestions. The photos are definitely very helpful. I like the glazing at the end of the wardrobe. In the original design, we had the entire wall of the master bed adjacent to the void made of double glazed glass with a gap going all the way to the bathroom. Here is the link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1i0OJjoS3db_iFkkhYy-D63F9ZTw_2E77/view?usp=sharing OR: The architect changed the entire floor plan because there some issues with the FSR etc. We thought to have so much glazing, it would be very costly... @Alex Gunawan Thank you for your comments, are you able to share any photos of the void area and how you design it or perhaps any floor plan etc :) @Kate Thank you for your comments :) @oklouise the floor to ceiling heights at Ground floor is 3 meters and the upper floor should be around 2.9 meters or so. I am yet to confirm the upper floor......See MoreKate
