To Uyenvy Le...hope I got hat right...as they say "Great Minds..." I've never forgoten my early "nuddie days on Nauru Island" just after WWII...a whole tribe of little chocolate and vanilla kids with the whole Island as our playground...the older ones with a littley to watch over. Now, I was about to log off when I read an article by a fellow who says that its unhealthy to wash too much or have long baths...that in his opinion equate to "stewing in your own juice". He advocates a short shower without soap about tice a week otherwise a 'sink wash'....and expounds his theories based on the healthy, supple, smoothe skin of jungle natives who do not bathe or use soap....all their natural oils preserved....lalalaaa.. Started me thinking about an pleasurable alternative to "stewing" (his opinion)...I like to have a shower after a long bath both to close the pores and rinse off any.."juice". Oh YUK, why did he have to spoil my heaven! I spent years in Italy in a community where people did not bathe at all or use soap but showered briefly on Saturdays so to go to church on Sundays...it was the worst, so I'm not going to go without my ablutions ever again. But...what if there were such water restrictions that we were all limited to a measured amount of water per person? What of our showers and tubs? That started me thinking on how to remain sweet smelling and really clean. My solution was...SAUNA! I go up to the local Gym for a swim a sauna and a massage just to keep as much mobility as possible and I love the Sauna! You mentioned the Spa..but that requires copious water...then there's communal bathing...which is not something I've done as an adult...that also requires water plus...so SAUNA!... I am having increasing problems getting out of my tub. I'd researched the disability 'walk in tubs' that are filled after one gets in and closes the door on the side and in which one sits on a seat submerged in the water, the Molly Bather which is a belt that lowers one into and out of the tub...but being a permanent fixture it spoils the look of the bathroom...and I like pretty bathrooms as well as functional ones...So many options to getting into and out of a tub....some sort of pretty others not. Not because that fellow has worried me but just that I want to enjoy a really thorough, healthy invigorating cleanse that is easy to access, that is relaxing without making a bathoom that resembles sports locker room showers, the ablution wing of an institution or the disbility facilities in a hospital. Maybe remove my lovely tub and replace it with a state of the art practical sauna room could be the go. Any comments Houzzers?

I see what you mean, 2100x2100 is not huge, but its certainly workable, is this a reno and are you working within an existing structure and if so existing plumbing as well?... I still think you can have a better layout to make better use of the space, looks like you're trying to cram everything in one corner of the room with an entire wall (to the left) dedicated to towel rails?... I see you've noted bedroom and hallway at the bottom, does that mean the bedroom is only linked to part of the ensuite and if so how much of the ensuite actually connects? presumably where you'll have the cavity sliding door... my suggestion to find a way to enclose the shower a little is not only to limit water splash but also to create some privacy from the toilet in the event that both are being used at the same time, could be a bit awkward? I was thinking maybe a nib wall with glass panel on top... I would actually also consider doing a nib wall where the vanity is and have the floating vanity from the left wall to the nib wall as that little gap you've got at the moment between the vanity and the shower screen would be difficult/annoying to clean... incidentally, the 540 depth of the wall hung toilet, does that include the cistern or will that be hidden behind the ensuite wall?

MB Design & Drafting, I have to contradict your comment about having only 1 floor waste, we have a large double shower with only 1 floor waste, ours is in the centre of our double shower, our tiles are black and by the time we get out of the shower the water on our shower floor is gone, I always clean the tiles and glass before leaving the shower, I leave the fan on while we dry and by the time we are dried our shower floor is almost dry, we have no trouble at all with only 1 floor waste.. Barbara, we have the same problem, which is not a problem at all, my husband likes his shower much hotter than me but we have our showers turned on to suit each other, we have a small seat at each end to sit on while we wash our hair and feet and each others backs.

When our building company architect had drawn up the plans and we'd gone on to the next stage of "add-ons", we requested a niche in the tiled shower area for shampoos etc, but were told it can't be done due to water-tight issues. Then, during the walk-through before signing off, we mentioned this to the building supervisor, and he was surprised about our request of a shelf being declined, and said that we should've asked them before they tiled. But, since we'd already made quite a few changes to the standard plan, we didn't want to cause any aggro. Now we have one of those metal extendable corner shelves. So, it pays to get a second opinion.
