looking for rug

last year

Hello! Could you give me an idea for the colour of rug for this room. I also attached other furnitures which r also in the room. Thank you!
Not going to buy cushions . But thinking to put canvas with bible verse and small green leaves

I would add a neutral textured rug to blend with your furnishings, keeping it in a plain colour but with a little texture will look beautiful.

Adding some greenery in gorgeous planters would look gorgeous.a moss bowl would look beautiful.

From the style of the dining suite, the hutch and the club arms (square) on the sofas it looks like your design style is more traditional than contemporary. If this is the case, you will probably be happier with the Persian rug. However the orange, yellow and turquoise chevron patterned scatter cushions don't work with this rug as the colours are too contemporary. If you like turquoise, try teal as the deeper shade goes well with red, grey and black.

Hi Jayrees, I totally agree with what Kat had to offer, I would suggest a non geometric pattern on the rug as the floor is already geometric, a light colour and subtle pattern if you prefer a pattern. The mirror should definitely be moved and I would consider a large light print to compliment the new rug and and drapes. It's a pity that the window screen blocks the view (it's a nice view) but the heavy screen is a necessity these days, I would remove the stickers from the glass to help with the openness. Just noticed that you have an air con in the room so you may be able to remove the screen.

Agree with above comments - large rug, darker colours to balance the beige. And I also think the art work is too small and too high. However if you are attached to these pieces they could be hung together on one wall, lower, maybe re-framed in similar frames to give them cohesion (black to match your new cushions?). This would create the effect of a larger art piece. (The centre of your art should be at average eye height - and in that room you are sitting so eye height is lower!)

I swap out rugs according to the season. This is my summer jute rug. It adds texture, ties in to the rock wall behind it and the warm natural tone works with the rust and cream cushions. At some point the grey couch will go for a warmer tone but I think it works pretty well together. The other rug is a distressed silvery with muted patterns in rust and blue. This works well with the couch and cushions and I lean blue artwork or ceramics on the shelf to tie in with it. Mixing up the rugs & decor keeps me from getting bored and helps mark the change in seasons ( also prompts a spring clean!)

I agree with Julie’s comment about adding texture (and greenery), but it may be an opportunity to add some colour and pattern also. That can be as subtle or as direct as suit your preferences, but sometimes it’s that variation that can make a monochrome really click

Look for something with more texture or a simple pattern. That rug won’t add anything but warmer feet.

That floor rug is too plain. Your room will just be a sea of beige and grey. More texture required.
