Hi Naomi, generally white gloss 300x600 (rectified) wall tiles are around $25-$30/m2 Floor tiles can vary a lot. 300x300's & 300x600's are very popular but I would recommend a floor tile of at least $40/m2 There is a misconception that lighter means it will feel bigger. Whereas, simpler will feel bigger. For the floor tiles, keep to natural tones (timber, slate type colours). The only colours I wouldn't go is white (or close to white, need contrast from walls) - and I wouldn't use a colour that replicates your vanity cupboards. A slate floor against a white wall can really provide a "non-offensive POP!" Good luck ! Doug. Perth W.A.

Hi Joanne, We recently did this bathroom renovation in Melbourne which may be similar(ish). The timber-look works well but don't be afraid to look beyond that. Presumably the grey has a hint of green on it to align with the wall tiles so you could head down the path of a composite stone top that's similar in colour to the floor tiles (If you want a clean touch). Your mockup scheme is similar to our master bathroom we just completed - photo below. I know you mentioned storage being a concern - our mirrored cabinet has offered an amazing amount of storage in a very small space and also helps bounce light around. I was worried about black taps etc too so we kept chrome fixtures but added in a matte black candle and black potted orchid to create a similar effect which we can change out later on. Our floor tiles are dark but because they are semi-polished they actually bounce around a lot of light and don't make the room feel dark if that is a concern. We also have a huge fiddle leaf fig in the corner (not pictured) which adds a really nice feel to the space - a plant like that could help bring in the outside greenery in your bathroom. Instead of the storage tower you have to the left of the vanity could you do say some floating wood shelving, possibly with baskets added for more hidden storage? You could also bring in the 60s theme with what you displayed on there eg. photos as you mentioned? In regards to the window - a previous house we lived in had a window at about shoulder height in the shower - as well as letting in heaps of light it was amazing for storing toiletries etc!

Hi there, Depending how many tiles you have, a feature wall would be a great use for polished granite, particularly behind the vanity & mirror. With the right lighting it will have the opposite effect of small & gloomy = spacious, chic and sophisticated. Also the size of the tile can contribute to that "small" feeling but 305mm sq is large enough not to. Keeping them on the walls will also help your budget as not needing to apply a non-slip coating. If you're able to have your vanity 'floating' then continue the black all the way down which will have a great effect on the space too. Hope this helps James. Kind Regards, Carol
