I had a lot of Tile Photos and shapes on my old Computer XP But the new one is Apple and I was Wondering why I couldn't Find Things that should have been there..The best ones are those that fit together as a complete Panel. It is True that it is not easy to Make The Shapes yourself...I did a tile Course a few years ago....You can Roll the Clay out and then print out the shape you require. (You need to spend time making or getting a Metal Worker to Make several Shapes in Steel...It is like Pastry Cutting ..Probably would take too long...You are right that some Clays are Easier to Work with...There is a type of Terracotta that is very forgiving...But a lot of the white or beige clays will crack very easily and are too fussy.. You have to leave things to dry out slowly over about 4 weeks ...The Kiln needs to be heated up very slowly any rushing and crafts will happen . I still have my old Computer so I hope to get Photo's unto a clip so that I can move them to iPhoto...Good luck with your Project....

I have tried all the suggestions Perini - didn't look purple in real life. Tile Boutique - no purple floor tiles at all. All all the lots and lots of other places = no purple floor tiles. Yes I have seen purple glass mosaics almost everywhere but I don't want small mosaics on the floor. Will also cost $55 sqm more to have grouted than a regular size floor tile. Looks like I'll just have to do boring grey as it's the trend but I have at least found one with sparkles if I can't have purple. I'm also amazed at reactions of the tile sales people - questioning, surprise, snobbery and happiness to be trying to look for something that is different. Cant' say I can't find purple, I have but with a 10 to 14 week wait to be ordered from O/S and lots of $$$ but I need to reno the bathroom by then so can't wait. Motto: If you have time and money can do anything.

I have some old discoloured and damaged cork tiles glued to hardwood floors. I would like to remove the cork and polish the hardwood floors. What is the best way to do this without damaging the hardwood and costing a mint?

No! Some would have you believe these tiles are more appropriate for circa, very late 1800 through to 1920's eras. [ Personally, I'd also dispute those claims too] I definitely agree with the comments of Dr Retro House Calls, however, I would like to add that you don't have to be rigid in your approach. If you like these tiles over everything else you can find, then use them for goodness sake. There are no rules to say that you must adhere strictly to everything 1960's. If you want to have a 'feel' of the 60's era about the bathroom, then find something else that will give that 'hint'. It could be as simple as the use of the paint colours of the era, or an art piece that ties the room back. Or perhaps the light fittings or the curtains. The choice is yours. Just DO IT WELL, so that the whole room feels united, cohesive and in harmony with itself. I am in the process of finishing off my property, having renovated the inside and am now working on the landscaping. [I'm hoping to have photos soon, to show off the place on Houzz] My theme has been 'loosely' based on the Arts and Crafts movement but the only thing genuinely true to that era is that I have used William Morris Drapes to inspire the cohesive effects of my efforts as shown in my sample board below. Make your project, your take on the 60's and own it. :-)
