Hi! Are you talking about the panel underneath the breakfast bar? I'd need a little more info on the style of the house and your planned staging to be sure, but I'd suggest something like painted pressed metal or a wallpaper (something robust that can withstand being kicked occasionally!). You could repeat this theme in your splash back (in the case of the pressed metal, not the wallpaper!) or back wall, or even on the door (if that's actually a door and not just an archway), depending on which you went with. If it's ridged (as in boards), once painted that will be quite a nice effect in and of itself, especially once you add some stools in front of it. As an aside you've also got a nice opportunity to improve the ambience of that room quite cheaply by swapping out the overhead light fitting. To Nicole K..OOOOOOH That sounds really classy! Why didn't anybody come up with that earlier on? I don't drink...but just for the decorator touch, if I had that fridge and that space, I'd get the calssiest alcohol shelving and fill it with the most elegant bottles available......suppose the real thing would cost a mint...so I'd hunt for the bottles and fill them with the appropriately coloured liquid...food colouring dye and water ought to do it. Maybe just one real bottle....my brandy for the upset tum. What a good idea!

if the kitchen space is 6m x 4m what would you do with all that empty kitchen space?...there'll be lots of walking backwards and forwards to the fridge...is this a new plan or a renovation of an existing space? ...perhaps you could enlarge the laundry to create a combined laundry pantry including the fridge and make a smaller uncluttered kitchen? post your plans to invite specific suggestions

As already mentioned by others you need to try and do the following, you will need a panel on both ends of the pantry/fridge space to build them in with a soffit across the top, your cornice would also be brought out around this, (not shown in my drawing, wouldn't do it for me). Not having sizes I'am not sure if this would fit. The wall cabinet could possibly be used above the fridge, once again size. I'am suggesting 25mm panels that could be what ever colour or material that would work with your white kitchen, ie;they could be painted black along with the soffit. the wall cabinet doesn't work in that corner. You also need to add a bench top height panel on the end of the Island, it could be same as bench top material.
