You will regret updating the exterior for what is likely to be a one that will date quickly and be higher maintenance . It is only a matter of time until such homes are as treasured as Victorian terraces or Californian bungalows. It is an icon of its time. Accept it for what t is. Why make your house look like a fashion victim of 2019, when it stands in almost the full glory of its original period? It will also save you a fortune too! But yes, minimise the concrete! and add a garden that refects the period the house was built. Roses if you like them, with maybe a magnolia or crepe myrtle feature tree but for lower maintenance try some architectural and ground covering succulents. You could also go with edibles like feature citrus and olives for a Mediterranean feel.

@jactheshe, it would be very hard to imagine. Even digital photos of the colours together can look so different. And depending on how your house is situated & how the light plays on it, that changes things again. I was looking at a picture online of a house using woodland grey with colorbond dune. The dune colour looked completely different to the colour card on the charts. If you have some large lightweight boards around, I suggest painting them out with colours you're considering. Or getting a large sheet of foam core from office supplies or sign companies and using that. It would be light enough to attach temporarily on the facade & give a better idea of which colour works. That way the angle how the light hits the colour is accurate.

No to above colour suggestions I know grey is in but you're bricks appear very brown with no obvious fleck of another colour Tho primrose appears to be current colour and tho is not my fave it does lighten up your house well which is what you want for fascias and Windows. But drainpipes only must be darker than brick so try jaspar or woodland grey. Gutter can be roof or fascia colour prob fascia colour to give more light contrast relief I'd play on colorbond visualiser go see what pops against dark brown brick - white or surf must may be too stark but maybe if you know your brick you could ask manufacturer for suggestions

Hi Leigh, If it were me, I would consider speaking with a professional designer. I believe that designers will do consulting work for a reasonable fee. Reason being, I don't think you will find one color to swap out all the purple. For instance, the purple downspouts would be better white, if the gutters are white. If the gutters are brown or another color, you might choose that color. Do you like the baby blue? Do you like how much baby blue you have on your house? You may find that the French doors would look good white, while the front door would look great black, hunter green, midnight blue, red, or another "statement" color (almost anything will be better than the purple) that contrasts against the cream house. The previous owners were most likely looking to accent the cream and cut it a bit with the color, but somewhat missed the mark for your tastes (mine, too). A professional designer will help you coordinate colors and tone down how much color is used. This person will help pick out colors that you will love and will make you feel happy when you look at your home. Changing the paint will work wonders on your home, but you want to make sure that you don't keep one of the colors simply because it is there. Another consideration for color is the type of house style and geographic location. Colors that look great in a beach setting may not work well in the mountains. The consulting fee that you pay will be money well spent and will help give you piece of mind. Start to notice what colors you like on a house and which colors you don't like. Just remember.
