Mattress cleaning - in Oz, just take it outside and let the sun do all the work. I guess here in the UK though, given that I haven't seen said sun for about 3 weeks, vacuuming is the only option?

I can see myself getting our mattress down 16 floors and laying it out in the compound! Never mind the local cats and dogs who would sit on it....

oh gosh...I'm way behind haha! But, Yes, you can wash some doormats in the washing machine! Nitrile rubber backed ones :-)
