Hi kristymacd, after changing my mind many times we went for a built in 1700 bath! Mostly as builder and tiler thought it would be easier to slope the floor properly and I liked the idea of the slightly larger built in compared to the 1590 back to wall. I’m sure a back to wall would’ve been possible and been fine, it all just got a bit hard and I knew both would look good. And I don’t think a back to wall would be any harder to clean than a built in - with a built in you have the hob and tiled face of the bath and back to wall there is the floor either side of the bath - same same! Here’s a pic of ours, not totally finished yet but really happy with it.

Hi there, Depending how many tiles you have, a feature wall would be a great use for polished granite, particularly behind the vanity & mirror. With the right lighting it will have the opposite effect of small & gloomy = spacious, chic and sophisticated. Also the size of the tile can contribute to that "small" feeling but 305mm sq is large enough not to. Keeping them on the walls will also help your budget as not needing to apply a non-slip coating. If you're able to have your vanity 'floating' then continue the black all the way down which will have a great effect on the space too. Hope this helps James. Kind Regards, Carol

Yes thank you for your thoughts. the room is 2.8 (with window) vs 3.4m. I do find it a bit annoying too as I don't like that you open the door and see straight away into the shower (though I'm certain the door would have a lock). I'm sure they lined the bath up to be with the window as visually that looks better, but then I find the space at the end annoying. I like the alternative drawings (I like three of them lots!) and I had been considering an drop in bath built wall to wall rather than a freestanding but also finding it frustrating to find a really nice supportive bath and there are less drop in baths than freestanding around at the moment which is a bit annoying. Thanks Anna for the picture, that helps as that looks good (though we would have more space at either end, 50cm) and I prefer the look of yours with some space but not as cavenous... I think I might have to have a talk with my husband as we really need to work out what to do!!

I need more information about this product! I hate tiles, but the house we just bought has extensive tiled floors and tiles floor to ceiling on all bathroom walls. Worse, the tiles are standard size, flat unattractive colour with no texture. I've been looking at cladding, but I have reservations about PVC sheeting and similar products, and I figure replacing tiles with tile slabs would be very costly.
