LOL. ;-) I noticed I had some crazy auto correct word in my last post which I think was supposed to say "able" (I can't remember now what it even said) ;-) Oldroo I think the builder said something like sticking the old roof bats under the floor. The rain, yes we had it here more then a week straight!! It was great because 1) I was on the sunny coast in Qland that week! And 2) we are on tank water which we have been running off empty for about 6 months now and we just got a second tank connected a few weeks ago as well as guttering on our shed and guess what.... Our tanks were overflowing for days!! We could of filled 3 or 4 tanks at that rate!! So I am very happy about the rain!! :-D

I like the idea of mirror as well, but it is glass and can cost around $900 to install professionally. A stainless still splash back for your cook top and acrylic sides can be more cost effective too. Another glass solutions is a picture of a unique stone, unique artwork or forest view that we can add to splash back glass, this would be a great visual as the position of your glass is so direct. This would also distract attention from above and your windows, it would be the wow factor of your kitchen, not that it needs to stand out it can also be subtle. Masters does offer this service but you need to request it from their kitchen specialist, it is a third of the price of real stone and slightly more expensive than glass. Make the most of the era and the exposed bricks. Put in a large skylight and fit wall garden system to "green up" those bricks and larger pots on the base. The brick base is perfect to hide the drainage system you'll need. Get a steel fabricator to weld up a drip tray to fit inside. Mesh over the top covered in your choice of pebbles or a sheet of CoreTen rusty steel laser cut to a design of your choice. Some Balinese statues maybe. Year round herbs.

Siri - you can have your Eiffel tower angel... give me the beach any day :) Nic - perhaps some driftwood, shells and a jar of sand might help bring the beach to you - just don't knock your sand flying or you'll literally be able to crank up your fireplace and lie down on your sand to sunbake lol.
