Alternative layout for Master bed / WIR / ensuite
Comments (32)I think siriuskey's latest plan is better, as it extends length of double shower which resolves the issue of chute/cupboard combo door, and allows for a wider door into master bedroom. A wider door will be a more dramatic entrance to this large suite, so worth seriously considering. The plan does eliminate the linen cupboard; however. Personally, I would not want to store my bed linens in a bathroom simply because of moisture/steam. The generously sized walk-in robe has more than enough space for bed linens to be stored. That's where I stored mine in our last home. It was very convenient and only a few steps from shelf to bed. I stored all other linens in the wardrobe of upstairs spare bedroom, close to the kids' rooms. Re the double shower - I mentioned previously a 1.8m length is sufficient IF you have a glass sliding door that slides alongside track like a barn-style door. Hubby & I did regret not thinking about how awkward a hinged/pivot door would be. Current dbl shower is 2.2m and has the sliding door I described. We didn't request a longer shower, but the architect drew it up that way. Given my choice, I'd always go with bigger....See MoreHelp with en-suite
Comments (34)Alright let's see if we can put this to bed. There's nothing at all wrong or amateurish with your home. Agree seeing photo it's arguably too much of a compromise nor cost effective to move/change the window considering outcomes. The solution here will come in the fit-out and how to balance that as best as possible within the constraints set. You can do it with a 1500 size bath option, 900x1200 shower. and it's essentially a tweak/fine-tune from the idea you had originally. (I shouldn't really do this but here you go/I'm feeling generous today ;) ) You run a ledge all the way around the back and end walls. Mirrored cabinets all along the end above the basin. This will feel massive and luxurious with the ledges/more dimension & interest. But you'd need a concealed in wall cistern. Any privacy concerns (in bathrooms) can be managed by combination blinds/furnishings - arguably much more flexible (and cheaper in this situation) than changing glazing to frosted glass. And then you still retain an outlook/light to your ensuite during the day etc... Good luck & Merry Christmas :) PD...See MoreTiny en-suite layout needed
Comments (10)based on standard sized fixtures there should be enough space for a small corner shower and single vanity with a toilet squeezed into the space next to the shower (which is narrower than ideal for comfortable elbow room) leaving space in the middle to stand and dry yourself or one person to walk behind another... there also needs to be allowance made for the space that will be used by new wall and floor linings so strongly recommend that you research fixtures and collect pamphlets with specifications and consult a plumber before you buy anything but i would prefer a bigger custom sized tiled walk in shower with glass panel and sacrifice a vanity cabinet for a wall hung sink with in wall mirrored wall cabinet and more toilet room for a more spacious feel...See MoreEnsuite - before and after
