I am just finishing off a kitchen myself, and am going with a layout similar to the one on the left, but we are actually putting legs on it, my husband likes the idea of the extra support for the stone (even though you have to reinforce underneath to get as much of a "jut out" as your picture shows") but it also will hopefully reduce the risk of children running into the corners! I also think it is nice to be able to sit at the end of bench and not have your back to the rest of the room. Good luck!

Hi Karina. Haha very funny re your art piece, KitchenAid! Baking is so much fun; I'm a baker from way way back, and you learn by just jumping in and doing it. About the height of your combined dining/bench table, it's pretty important to have a height that's comfortable for you whilst you work. I'm tall and my family is too, so we had the benchtop height built higher so we are not getting backaches from constantly having to bend over to work. It's really more important for the one who does all or most of the cooking & baking to be comfortable as you can spend long periods of time reading and working out recipes, then putting it all together. Likewise, if you are shorter, choose a table that suits you. Best wishes and keep us posted.

They look great in that photo, Northstar! Works beautifully. Will be fine over your bench. Didn't realise how large your p really space will be. Wow! No, if you replace pendants that have staggered drops, the fittings are completely removed and new pendant fittings are installed in their place. The electrician just shortens the drops without cutting them & the extra lenth is hidden away in ceiling.

Hello Rosie, the good news is that you are able to use the Laminex Surround Demi Round material to achieve this. If you get your cabinetmaker (or DIY) to run saw cuts into the back of the panel with their panel saw around 8mm - 9mm deep x 4mm wide cuts, (see image) then each of these cuts will allow you to curve the panel. The saw cuts will close up into triangles as you fold the panel around the curve. The closer you space the cuts together, the tighter the radius is achieved. Hope this helps, Malcolm (Pro).
