Yes definitely consider your furniture placement. Your lights should connect to the rest of the rooms decor. That is over the coffee table or over side tables. A cluster might work if you vary heights and consider some changes in size and shape of each light. See some examples below. Your light choice is lovely. It will however throw that pattern all around the room, something to think about if it's to be your only light source. You say there will be a fan as well. This will make the pendants move, another point to consider.

just as well you challenged the sizes of the rooms as the spaces shown will make a very generous guest bathroom but not enough room to walk through the laundry as the floorplan doesn't seem to be drawn to scale so I've made two plans with actual sizes available for comparison... by reducing the width of the guest bathroom and increasing the laundry there'll still be enough space for a supersized shower and twin vanities but there'll be enough room in the laundry for standard storage cabinets, space to open the sliding door and also open the swinging door inwards, so as not to block access to the stairs, and just enough space to use a standard sized ironing board.. The small hallway is a bonus adding extra privacy and sound screening and solid core doors will improve this even more and then choice of fixtures and fittings will make a good choice even better

Thanks everyone, again, a lot to think about! With regards to changing the structure of the house to make it more open plan - making one large living/dining/kitchen room is not something I want to do, it means getting rid of the 50s styling (inbuilt shelving brickwork etc) which I love about the house in the first place. It would also not be very practical for Hobart living, with freezing winters heating such a large space comfortably (initial heatpumps plus ongoing winter bills, without or without the wood heater )- would be completely out of my budget to be honest. I'm also not a huge fan of open plan living in general. The sunroom is effectively a 'tacked on' room to the outside of the house (load bearing wall). It was the original concrete deck just enclosed with plastic sheeting roof and walls, again a very costly renovation that I wouldn't be able to afford without years of saving. I'm liking these suggestions though- its all stuff that hadn't even crossed my mind. I think I will go with turning the bedroom into the kitchen and opening up the house from that side, I think that because it's a one bathroom property, it makes sense to me having 3 bedrooms and a larger kitchen/dining space. We too live in a cold winter climate with our bathrooms all on the southern side and faced similar issues as you do. One smaller bathroom does not have a window so we put in a Velux skylight which provides amazing natural light through the day. This may not be to your liking, especially if you have a period home. We also use heated towel rails and under tile heating (just enough to take the chill off and stop mould) in winter. Although we have a light in the shower recess, a bonus is the large fixed shower head with inbuilt LED, which at night gives the feeling of showering under moonlight. We chose light colours and mirrored recessed cabinets to reflect as much natural light as possible.
