Need honest opinions on rug!
Comments (28)Sorry, but to my eye the rug is too big, too thin, and not exciting. How would you view the rug if it cost a bundle? If it isn't worth having at a high price, it's not worth having at a low price, especially since it is not materially different than the current too-small rug. For me, I would wait to find a rug that I loved, loved, loved....See Morekitchen colour help/advice/opinion

Comments (20)Wow love some of those pics Siriuskey! Thank you for the ideas. I struggle with whether to keep walkways 'clear' in this house - for example the two doors either side of kitchen and the deck door all create these weird walkways. (See arrows on drawings) Is it a smart move to 'block' them with say a couch, or an island bench, or the dining table? (See random furniture placement in pictures showing these options) I have uploaded a drawing with the current walls that we propose removing in green highlighter and showing where the current front door is. As you can see it's a wasted space and strange detour past laundry toilet and storage! I have sketched what I think you mean by entry next to bed 3- would you leave a small office room to one side and create a hallway or leave open and place miners lounge against west wall. Am I interpreting it all as you imagined?!...See MoreNeed help to understand who I need to engage with for best outcome
Comments (3)Hi May I ask why you want to use rammed earth? There are other more energy efficient materials around particularly when you want to build two storey. The answer to your question as to who to use will be heavily influenced by what materials you choose. Building in alternative materials usually requires changes in methods regarding eg footing/concrete details, reinforcement (engineering) prelays and finishes. Talking with builders / architects experienced in the method eg rammed earth early will both help you avoid mistakes / late changes to accommodate materials and different requirements.... I would start by talking with builders that have built in the method you like. You will soon find out if it is what you want. A simple web search will locate rammed earth builders who are experienced in double storey homes. I know of one in QLD. Cheers...See More- 8 years ago
