@ Ba Beltramo, I think this dilemma might be better solved if we we had pictures, as suggested by rahnch but if that is too difficult to provide, it would help if you supplied more information about exactly where this pool sits as opposed to the home and what size and shape it is including the lay of the land, pool fencing etc... I'm a little concerned about some of the suggestions that even talk of possibly destroying the pool although I have nothing personally against the suggestion providing you are well informed and take into account what will best suit you personally. After reading you dilemma heading again, "Re-design the space AFTER pool" I'm now assuming that the pool may already be gone and you have a huge hole where it once sat?? If that's the case, then it could be as simple as filling the hole in as you suggested yourself. If the pool is still in place and you are considering filling it in, then I would be concerned about your thoughts to effectively destroy it when I personally know just how costly is it to have a pool in the first place with many people who could only dream of having one!! At the end of the day, your property must work for you but I would hope you give it allot of thought before you do anything.

It's about priorities on function. You can't have your cake and eat it so to speak, but you can clean it up and get rid of the awkward angles. Comes down to what's more or less important. Here's an option that gives you back the bedroom but requires a more traditional bathroom + separate powder set-up. Ultimately you know how you'd like it to function and so the solution needs to come from clarification in that regard. Hope this helps Cheers PD

i have a vintage program called 3d home architect version 4 that's no longer available but it's the best of several that i use...Siruskey uses another version found on Ebay? but these programs don't tell you what will fit and you should have a big tape measure, compass, note pad and pen for house inspections and make a list of standard furniture sizes and always allow at least 1 m for walkways across rooms eg the door between the square hallway into the lounge has been moved to make wall space for the furniture and i've included a straight island kitchen as this is the easiest and cheapest to build but the real estate plan ares often only generous estimates and you must confirm the dimensions and location of windows and doors to be confident about the sizes...there're always many different options but it's not realistic to try and make an old house into something too complex unless you buy a bargain and the area is worth a major investment ...good luck with your choice

congratulations...exciting times..as big reader says, get rid of everything that you won't use immediately...assuming limited storage in a rental perhaps the car seat and whatever the framework is can be stored under the cot...place a big sheet under the mattress to hang down and hide the storage...i would move the chair into the corner next to the window and add a small table (a plastic upside down toy box would suit) so you have somewhere to place a drink while you sit with your feet up...the furniture looks lovely so only needs a dust and wipe over and make sure handles are securely attached and clean and add fresh liners inside the drawers, absolutely attach the bookshelf to the wall (only needs small L shaped brackets from hardware store) choose some new bedding in your favourite colours (baby doesn't care as long as you're happy) and add some block out curtains and a lap rug
