Who does Hamptons style wall panelling and skirting in Perth please
Comments (10)Hi Suzanne The panelling in Perth is usually done with (believe it or not) Cedar panels / planks which are then prepped and painted. Most of the high end work is done this way. You can do it in MDF however and any good chippie will make it work. We recently restored a 100 year home in a Hamptons Style home and all of the stair well panels were cedar also. The second storey panelling we did had to be fabricated in MDF to get the detailed sizes and other than the dents in the old (from many years of enthusiastic use) you can't tell the difference. For skirting, a lot of the profiles are made up as one offs by builders that are used as a kind of signature. The same with doors. We made new solid doors to match the old at a timber joiner. The skirting and door profiles are usually made up by executive doors and mouldings in Malaga. They have a good range for you to start with as does Subiaco Restorations in Osborne Park. Comments (2)Hi Andrea, You’ll find that chrome is more traditional in styling with a Hamptons vibe however black tapware is a more modern approach to the design style. It would look quite good when matched with the black cupboard fixtures against the dark floors and marble bench top. Black tapware continuously remains a popular choice both because of its aesthetics but also because of its maintenance as you won’t see fingerprints scattered over your tapware. We definitely agree with the above comment and recommended you stay clear of powder coated tapware. Fontaine Industries offers various styles of black kitchen tapware that you can find here....See MoreHamptons Style Builders / Architects Melbourne
Comments (3)Hi Ben We offer architectural services for any style of residential project and currently have a few "Hamptons" inspired projects on the go. We've recently completed one yet to be photographed but attached elevation to give you an idea. Depends upon what you are seeking specifically. Is it a new build or a renovation project? Where will the project site be located? Hamptons style is timeless and derived from traditional/colonial architecture aesthetic. But good design of these types of homes involve intimate understanding of this architectural language (the particular detailing, balance, scaling and symmetry) and capacity to apply the aesthetic to functional requirements of the modern day lifestyle and living needs. I'm working on a coastal Hamptons project at the moment on which whilst the previous architect made it look pretty, the spaces are completely dysfunctional and awkward, and so we're having to completely re-work the main areas to achieve appropriate entertaining and alfresco proportions, that are required of a classy Hamptons inspired residence..... We service a wide range of custom (relatively high end) projects across Melbourne, Geelong and surrounding coastal areas, so please feel free to reach out if you'd like to discuss further. Comments (6)You have a complex set of requirements that won't be adequately addressed in an online forum of opinions. In addition the photo of the style of kitchen that you like is in a much larger space than you have available, and the size of that kitchen contributes to its presence. Without borrowing some space from adjacent rooms for a wider, larger kitchen then I would consider a G-plan with the end of the G being bench height seating with half the stools with their backs to the view, and the other half with their backs to the kitchen, as in this photo. I would engage a design professional to visit, take your brief, measure up and come back to you with a few concepts for the layout. Think hard about how important the symmetry is to your kitchen as it can really hamper creative solutions that are outside the box. It is still possible to have a Hamptons style kitchen, that has presence and is of a formal nature that is asymmetrical. The rest of your home is not symmetrical, and forcing a symmetrical design into a pre-existing space only ends in compromises to the functionality. A good design professional (not necessarily a kitchen designer) will look outside the three walls that are constraining your thinking and options to create an elegant solution, but you will need to pay for this creative service.
