Hi Deco Everything that I have collected part from the dining set which was an investment has been from garage sales. So I am quite happy to part with everything... I think the most expensive was $10.00. My problem is that I cant focus because you are right. I just have too much going on in different styles. Going with the style of the dining table - where do you think I should head with rug choices from everything I am reading - it says I should zone out the room?? I am staying away from leather couches and heading towards a cotton fabric. I really just want the space to be comfortable. Thanks for the tip about the ideabook. I've been collecting here and then, but mainly watching how people solve their dilemmas. I look but don't comment much.

Yes, all the Houzzers have been extraordinarily helpful. I am sure in the end, it will be a beautiful room. With regards to the change of sofa style, I was unsure of my ability to keep the white leather clean - particularly the stitching. By finally going with the "Julio" it is slightly more comfy sofa than the "Ariel". It has a higher back and I feel the "granite" colour will give me less hassles. In reality, the "granite" colour has slight yellow/creme undertones which tie back better with the curtains but this doesn't really show up in pictures. Golly, I hope I am on the right track. Also you need what you use all the time at eye level you seem to have every day items on the bottom shelf. The middle two would be so much easier. I also feel it could be time for a big clean out. Empty everything from all shelves, I know its very time consuming but the only way to do it. Allow a whole day. Go through everything individually, put like items together. Keep baking items together, sauces, gravies etc. together, cereals together, snacks together. Work out if you need to buy some baskets or plastic containers for loose items that should go together. Once you start you will be on a roll. When finished you will wonder why you didn't do this before. Dont forget the timber steps, I think you can buy plastic ones also. I have also seen expanding racks that do the same. But I have found them to be a bit over priced. Don't forget to treat yourself after the good job you have done. Good luck

You must be male. When you go to the hairdresser (insert other grooming places) they wash and spend an hour or so taming your hair into Submission. Then you get to feel this lovely soft hair and they convince you to buy their overpriced shampoo. You gleefully bring it home and try it out, surprised when you don’t get the same result from you 10minute hair dry as they did after an hour or so. Toss the shampoo in the cupboard, maybe after another try or two and go back to old favourite. Repeat the process a time or two as we are slow learners or suckers or maybe just in need of pampering, you fill in the gaps. Don’t believe me, let’s try the moisturiser, you are walking through the department store after being at work or out with kids all day. The hand cream salesperson sees you as their next Mark. Come try this they lure. You are in need of pampering and yes your hands feel dry, don’t they every afternoon! They lather you up and gee it feels awesome. The little massage they slip in with it gets you hooked. Another product same outcome. You’ve spent good money so don’t want to ditch it. Then there are the friends and family. They see these products in your bathroom and see you enjoy the finer things and happily store it away as future present knowledge. And on it goes, pick a body part...
