Well, I guess I can help...but the biggest issue we'll face is budget....because getting from where you are to where you want to be is going to require some pretty major overhauls. At least the goal is doable from a basic architecture point of view...yesterday I had to tell someone that we'd be nearly tearing the house down to get it to look remotely Craftsman style.

I'm going to jump in and out, making suggestions, then going back to look at the house some more.

Let's start with the siding, windows and doors. First, the brick has to go. The pseudo mid century modern vertical half brick on the gable end disrupts the facade. I think take it all off and salvage it...we'll use it later. With the brick off we are now open to other types of siding. I like the idea of two different treatments, broken horizontally. That can happen in a few places but I'm partial to the shift happening at the eave line. The transition could also happen at the bottom of the window or the top of windows and doors. I think, since you are in Oz, a fire resistive material would be best, so let's consider the lower section as stucco and the gable end as concrete board and batten?

Now windows and doors...Arts and Crafts bungalows typically balanced window placement and maintained a fairly regular size. So...we're tearing out the windows and replacing them with new. Casements will allow the most air and give better egress for bedrooms. Look at them first. Divide the large glass area by having three small panes at the top and one larger pane at the bottom in an approximation of the golden section. I'll post a picture later...I'm on my iPad and its just too hard in this app.

For the doors...front door is natural wood, given your location, I think eucalyptus is a good choice. Not sure what is available there for the look we're after...may need to be custom. We'll look at doors as we go forward.

Trim, both interior and exterior, was a hallmark of the style. Some relatively simple treatments will work. We'll plan on paint for the exterior trim.
