Matching chairs for table?
Comments (9)I also like the provincial chair, although it's a more relaxed country style than the table, which I also love. This is really interesting and is a statement on it's own, obviously it needs chairs so I would suggest a relaxed but formal upholstered chair, something like a all back wihtout arms, with a nice fabric will accentuate the interesting geometry in the table frame. If you were to include chairs like the cross back, they would both fight each other visually as they have different styles and both are timber sections. Busy to look at. You mentioned balck or oak, both are gorgeous, oak can be found almost black as it's so popular. There aresome gorgeous chairs which have a curved side and are upholstered, so they feel like lounge chairs but tuck into a dining table. Coco republic have them, and the style is found replicated almost anywhere you look....See MoreWill these colours match my bathroom?
Comments (7)I love dark tiles in a bathroom, but I would throw in bright 'pop' colours in the towels and accessories etc (acid colours, reds, oranges), maybe some abstract artwork, although looking at your bedroom in the mirror blues are the colour there. Maybe a really gorgeous hanging pendant or chandelier. Try different things and see what you love as you walk in…decorating is all a big adventure and let's face it, only you and your family have to love it, no-one else matters!...See MoreHelp! Wall tiles don't match the floor tiles
Comments (28)It's the floor colour that's the main problem, neither one thing nor the other, and certainly wrong with the benchtop. Leave the wall tiles if you like that sort of thing and find a way of covering the floor probably with laminate planks on an underlay. We have a European Birch golden coloured timber floor but softer grey splashback and it looks fine. It's not an award winner but the floor and cabinet carcases had been there twenty years and it was affordable. Don't even think about painting the floor or putting down mats but a clear plastic runner in front of the sink works well for us....See MoreNeed help, but don't know what type of professional I should ask.
Comments (4)Hi Brenny, This is absolutely the work for an interior designer/decorator. Some designers do larger scale work, however like myself, we happily engage in all scales of work. I would definitely recommend either meeting face to face if they are local or speaking on the phone if they are remote as to get a feel for the designer before committing to them. Normally, after a discussion regarding the scope of works, they will provide you with a quote if they (and more importantly you) are happy to proceed. Even more importantly, professionals know what they are doing, and (should) have a large array of suppliers to work with and good product knowledge. Some (like us at JFI Studios) also provide you with trade discounts from suppliers who offer it, so not only do they help you with what you need to find, but also can sometimes offer it at a cheaper rate which can go a long way. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you need any advice or would like to chat about your home, as I would be delighted to be able to help you. Good luck and happy shopping!
