Comments (35)I think you need to soften the look and colour of the bed by mixing white and cream bed linen maybe with a little soft grey accents. I would go for a variety of textures in the textile as apposed to any outrageous colour and layer the look with throws and cushions. A mirror long and sleek would look great behind bed and a tall floor lamp and some greenery eg: potted palm in the corner by the window. Good Luck!...See MoreIdeas for teen bedroom/s downstairs.
Comments (39)My daughter ran her business from her bedroom until they could afford a 3 bedroom house, their 2 bedder with two boys and no where else to fit an office was a very difficult time which thankfully they all survived. Having your office in your bedroom should be avoided at all cost, as you never leave the office behind as my daughter found out. Your bedroom is where you go to relax , I certainly wouldn't give up my sanctuary for anyone, even my kids. You are there full time so it makes sense. Your house already has enough rooms, except for making a small change to allow for another bedroom albeit small next to the bathroom as per my suggestion, Both of these rooms have space for the boys to have a desk (they don't need a lot of storage being part time) The desk in the living area can be built in to hide an office. This is a low cost solution and won't damage resale value. If down the track you can afford the new deck, try to work out to fit a room underneath as a hang out (media) area for the boys. not sure about WA but rooms like these in some states can have ceiling height at 2100, depends on what name!! you give them. My son is in a similar situation to you, except he now lives in a Studio Apartment in Sydney, so when he has his two kids 50 50 they make do in that space and seem to manage very well....See MoreHelp needed restyling master bedroom
Comments (21)Hello Joyzzz, I'm not the best with this sort of thing: much better with plans! But I love the rug, bathroom window, plants and the stand and THAT VIEW!!! Do what ever you need to to enjoy it more often, for longer day or night and with good books, knitting, cuppa tea and Mozart!!! What about a unit that is the height of the structure of the window seat to go along the wall with TV on it: yes I see there is a vent to consider too...unit could have baskets for said knitting, DVD and Mozart CD's, teddy & other storage too. The TV would be just that bit higher, easier to see and have stack of books, vase of flowers hubby has bought for you, perfumes etc decoratively along it. Also place to put cuppa, knitting bag when on the day bed..... Then match bed sided tables to it and center the bed or have the left side table longer taking most of the space to the window wall. Again it can have flowers, cups of tea, books, whatever. Add three lamps: bed sides maybe hanging so as not to use the table space: cylinder shapes shades to match the ceiling lights but a tall base so one by TV is bringing more height to the TV area. As others have said lighter, subtle beachy colours in art, cushions, doona covers, taking in the colous of the mat and plants to tie it all together. Lets see what you come up with!! OH and leave plants where they are but add another on a stand so it is in the window light & near to TV!? Cheers Lucky you with a view and lovely room like that.....
