Unfortunately susan_ 66 there is colour is psychologically and historically related either way, and dark blues re more often not considered masculine when building an interior. I worked in a design centre where much time was spent picking apart colour association, and used it to help market the products in imagery. There are feminine blues ofcourse, but my comment specifically mentioned indigo and low chroma colours, which are toned. With black and greys, and I used the phrase 'added masculinity' referring to the boldness and strength of colour they bring to soft and delicate colours of blush and peach. Just from that you can see how colour is associated, bold and strength= male, and soft and delicate = female. it is what it is. In my example, ie an interior, I meant it to be masculine. Baby blue I wouldn't have thought was masculine, but is a gender specific typically only when there are two options. Pink or blue!

Perhaps check with your local council to see if they have a plant list. Many councils here in NSW do this to assist homeowners with choosing native Australian plants and some introduced plants that grow well and are in keeping with the area. Of course it depends on the look of your house and whether your landscaping plan will compliment that, or whether you want a manicured look, or a natural look, cottage garden look (e.g flowers and hedges) or a beachy look (e.g. if you have a pool) and so on. Fruit trees sometimes need a different aspect to other trees, so separating food trees from general foliage is something to consider. Oleanders are off the list in many parts of NSW too. We recently put a fence in similar to yours but it has been painted black as our house is modern. We've been advised on lomandra, banksia and grevilias and lili pillys for a native garden as we already have lemon scented gums and ironbarks on the property. If you consider the building style of your home, and the trees common to the area you're in, sometimes that can give some inspiration

The bedside cabinets seem to match the dresser , there are several progressions from the brown through the gold of the curtains , the mushroom of the wall and the beige of the bed , to the pink in the cover . It works . I also wondered about the uplight , and the two bedside lamps I'd try and get the same as the pillowslips or preferably the slightly darker pink of the cover . The pictures I'd have the same distance of wall showing above and below , and approx as far apart as now . Your headboard is large , Kates is lower , so you don't have the same space to 'fill' , that's why I'd go equidistant . If you are still worried about the bedside cabinets , it looks like you have 1 picture in a similarly coloured frame -- try and get a couple more ( the pics above the bed leave as they are , get more pics or prints ) in the same wooden shade , and ideally a mirror too . The more at that end of the spectrum , to compliment the pinks at the other end , the better it will look IMO .
