Bathroom Renovation Please Help.
Comments (46)Thanks so much Margot, SiriusKey and OkLouise for your help and great ideas. I cannot thank you enough for all your ideas and expertise. After hearing all your feedback and ideas I saw this bathroom when watching a re-run of house rules. It is the charity house main bathroom. It seems to be a similar shape and size to ours. If we move the door as suggested when can do this bathroom I think. It will allow us to have a bath and shower and larger vanity with 2 sinks. While I adore the bath shower at the end of the room SiriusKey while we only have one bathroom in the house for the moment we need 2 options for bathing / showering. They are often used at the same time with the moment. Thought you might like to see the pictures of what I am currently thinking for our bathroom reno. While I love your ideas for creating an ensuite in the current bathroom and moving the bathroom across a bit. This is probably too bigger renovation for our current situation. Sorry for the delay in getting this to you. I have had a sick 9 mo who only wanted cuddles. Not much time for anything else with 2 others to also look after! Best wishes to you all and thanks again for all your comments and feedback. It has helped me immensely....See Moreshould I make a wall as a walkway ?
Comments (67)Serene, I believe your ceiling is ok, You don't need to go full height, there is a lot of ways to design kitchen for a high ceiling. Seems like yours is more than 3m high. Why not put some potted plants above the overhead cabinet? It can be fake plants, nobody will notice the dust if its high on the top. On your other question, I prefer Washing Machine to have a proper tub to soak shoes or really dirty towels, so if you can build another roof to boundary fence OPTION D like your sample photo, it will be most ideal. In Malaysia, its hot and humid, and lots of rain, so having a shelter that allows you to air the clothes is best....See MoreIs 4.42m wide enough for a kitchen, dining and living area?
Comments (41)Further questions, I've some questions that I'd like to seek opinions from all. Blue shaded = Windows/Glass sliding door Red shaded = Wall Currently, my wife and myself are thinking if we should have walls that are all windows and glass sliding doors as per this image below. Obviously the con is that we can't have any furniture or tv cabinet there but that after researching Pinterest, it seems that all beautiful homes these days have these "glass-enclose" feel. Not sure if it's practical but it definitely looks nice. Another option that we're thinking is to have piece of wall that we can place the tv cabinet (if we want to) or any other furniture/shelves in the future What are the pros/cons? I'm thinking of having the wall there because at least it's "future proof" if we don't want to have a TV there, it can be functional and we can have shelves etc. If we want to have a TV cabinet we can. But my wife thinks having everything enclosed in glass/window/sliding door are nicer and the living area shouldn't need to have a TV since we already have a leisure TV area at the upstairs. Thanks, Venn....See MoreHelp me create a creative space and another room?
Comments (41)Afternoon Houzzers…..we are revisiting our thoughts on our extension after this summer. We now realise we want the new space to be our primary bedroom with ensuite and clothes storage. We will convert our existing downstairs room into a Bunk room/kids playroom. Downstairs will comfortably house 2 families. Upstairs..we still want 3-4 metres added to the existing living…for more seating, activities, board games WFH space etc….the rest of the space will be our bedroom and bathroom. ..(we can not extend to the East) The room will be west facing and looking into our garden . The garden views are beautiful and I would like to capture them from the bedroom and through the living room (aspect and window requirements are drawn in Pink) The blue pen outlines the proposed extension…I feel it may need to be a bit bigger. I have a dilemma in that I want all that BUT I do not want to see my bed from the living room..when the door is open to catch the view….. Playing with the plan, doing cut and paste and I can’t get it right. I would love some fresh creative eyes to help me work this out please. We are on the Mornington Peninsula. We are in a flood zone, and have height restrictions, so we will not be able to build underneath the upstairs room..we hope to use it as a carport/outdoor room . I really appreciate any further input you may have. ……just trying to send updated plan..standby...See MoreLive Architects
