Hi Megan, I think all the comments have been very constructive and positive. I looked at your photos very carefully and my eye was being confused by the white walls and the beige/caramel carpet. I think your modular lounge is beautiful and your choice of furniture is good. The coffee table could be exchanged perhaps for a more organic shape, and a glass top table opens up a space also. Another choice of coffee table would be using the lounge ottoman with a large tray to hold cups and magazines. Have you considered moving the lounge off the wall if there is the space? I definitely would love to see a large rug and a large artwork for the wall, however there seems to be a lot of light hitting that wall and I wondered about fading (of the lounge, over time and of the artwork) so what are your window coverings? Before you commit to colors etc., find some pieces of fabric (could even be tablecloths, sheets or clothes) in different colors, throw on the lounge (one color at a time) and take a photo - you will soon be able to tell which colors work best for you. Same goes for the floor - simple but effective when rugs and cushions are not often cheap. You will have so much fun deciding and whatever you decide will be just fine because you have to love the home you are in! Good luck with everything Di.

@fianou, Thank you for your kind words, I agree it's coming along, although not everyone knows that we've been building this home for 8 years now, using only our own money as humble farmers!!! We live in a tiny but comfortable7 square, (roughly) relocatable home and I personally can't wait to get into my new home with all the room and room to put everything in it's place!!! Right now all my posessions are boxed or wraped and in storage in various locations here on the property like our woolshed and an old caravan, as well as things stored in my mother's home a few kms away and with the home having just been sold, means I will have to move this furniture here and add to the mountain of things already in storage!! I'm sorry to say and hope I don't offend, that I don't have an affinity with hanging pots and plants and hubby would literally "cringe" at the thought of growing a vine up our new posts ha-ha I have got a pair of large pots either side of the front door , visible in the photo, housing Wisteria's that I hope to be able to keep tamed and they shoud look lovely when in flower. I originally planned to have about 20 standard roses along the front of the home but they are too much work I've decided and more often than not look quite shabby at certain times, especially when they are dormant, so instead, I have decided to plant several standard grevilleas in a nice stone mulch with a brick border as is the rest of my garden for easy mowing. I actually have quite a large garden but mulch is definitely the way to go and I have used a few different types of stone mulch, as well as tree mulch and woodchips and this reduces my weeding workload, the bain of all gardeners. I'm almost 60 and want to enjoy my home and garden but do not want it to become a burden but should I ever consider a hanging basket, perhaps indoors, I will be reminded of you!!! ha-ha Cheers, Barbara

The bed needs more pillows with texture and patterns. Add black highlights in the accessories. Also get a lamp for the side table and a tray for accessories etc candles, vase. A few accessories for the desk like a hand-shaped jewelry holder etc. The things that will make the room less boring will be a rug with a visually appealing and exciting pattern (not a solid colour), a chair (the more interesting the better) , new bedding will create a focal point and accessories for the side table and desk. Go to freedom or adairs etc and they'll be staff members to help you choose out furniture, accessories, bedding etc. Show them your pictures and speak to them and they'll know how to help.

There certainly can be legitimate functional reasons/purpose for basins to be required set appropriately in relation to the wall to suit the selected wall spout setup, and having experience with similar details the spout length chosen can determine the basin position and does need to be a certain length to work properly. Sometimes this requires adjustment of basin size and bench depth. In this case something's clearly happened.....without understanding the company's particular processes my guess is that the bench depth larger than what it should be. It's your home/investment, you have to live with it long term. IMO what differentiates (great from ordinary) builders is their capacity to resolve issues and shoulder responsibility when something like this occurs. Believe me they (should) have enough fat built in the profit margins to resolve these types of issues. The good news is you actually have a physical example you can refer to in the company's display home. If required go and measure it and compare it to yours to be 100% sure - in custom/boutique situations clients don't have that luxury/back-up check. Try not to play or get drawn into a "blame" game, or accept lame excuses (which the industry is expert in ;) ), it doesn't matter exactly how it went wrong, the main thing is you want to get it right/resolved. Stick to your guns ;)
