We recently did a splash back in our new kitchen using 41 x 41 mm square stainless still tiles from a company in Western Australia called ALLOY. They look amazing and everyone comments on them. They make tiles out of lots of different metals and in larger (and smaller) sizes.

http://encycolorpedia.com/585654 this tells you the info for a paint shop to match it but also suggests similar matches in other brands eg Dulux, Taubmans etc it does suggest Dulux Woodland Grey. I'm a kitchen designer and have done a kitchen in that colour before and does look very similar to what your after. Hope that helps :)

Tribbletrouble, thanks so much for the info, it's great to know that there's a bit of a black trend happening, as the black accessories... Handles, lights, sink, legs were what we really liked when choosing but now seeing it all together it's taking a while to get used to. Like you said though. I probably just need to get the furniture and laying done. Really appreciate your thoughts, links and suggestions :)

Hi Debbie Your new kitchen sounds lovely - a departure from average white!! A soft grey would be good, so long as it contained the blue tone you have chosen for the island. Would you consider a grey/green eucalyptus colour for the cabinets? Or a laminate that copies stainless steel? That would show as blue, to flatter the island colour.
