Gosh this is an old thread, lucky I'm still attached to it. Sorry Susan, can't help you, the Houzzer is in the US and they have different brands to us and I've also learned even if the brands are the same, the colours aren't necessarily the same. Did you check out the brand Luke posted? I believe Luke is no longer with Houzz unfortuantely. Personally, I would never touch brick, it is a timeless product and usually messing with it only results in more maintenance over time, where natural brick is pretty much maintenance free. I also read the other day red bricks are coming back in again - there is always a cycle if you wait long enough. My old house was red brick and I had the green guttering, roof tiles and such but over the years the roof tiles lost their colour and went grey. When I sold the house the new owners painted all the guttering and outside trims charcoal grey. As much as I hate grey and am over the constant use of it, I have to say it really looks great and gives new life to the bricks. Maybe this is the way to go with updating facades, just change trims to the current fad colours, they need painting regularly anyway, and leave bricks to the natural cycle of trends.

A house in our street is very similar to this, the owners have done a fabulous job celebrating the style of the house, the roof line and bessa blocks have been made a feature, they have decked the front and landscaped the gardens, it is dressed beautifully with 59/60s style pots lowish profile with three legs accopulco chairs out on the deck. I wish I could take a photo (but a bit creepy - going up and taking photos of some one else's front). They have put in new windows and doors. The front garden is large and they have views over the inlet here. It has gone from one of the worst houses to something pretty remarkable. The new Windows are black framed

Hi, I agree with you, the salmon is a bit yuk. Personally I don’t see the point changing the garage doors unless you were changing the roof. They talk to each other so leave them. The first thing I’d do is massively prune/clear the garden. It’s a very beautiful garden and well cared for, but it’s doing nothing for the facade of your house. Your house is drowned out by it. Now the trims, that comes down to what you like but I’d go for something dark and rich tones. I like good old woodland grey too, just cause it goes with everything. Best of luck.
