How to fit walk-in shower and bath into “large” bathroom?
Comments (35)Hi Deonne If your bathroom requires the two doors, my suggestion is NOT to have a bath. Keep it very clean and neat Across the recess have either a walk-in shower with a 600mm opening OR a glass panel and door. You may consider a seat in the shower ( example on our website ) A recess ( niche ) for shower 300mm high max length Wall hung, all drawer vanity. In-wall cistern toilet suite. Mixer diverter, overhead and handheld shower. Quality tapware, with min 10-year warranty Porcelain floor tiles min 300 x 300. Tile to ceiling, ( unless home has high ceiling, if high, tile to an architrave height ) min tile size 600 x 300, Ceramic to rein in cost...See Morebathroom suggestions please!
Comments (11)Keeping the toilet separate as in Ok's drawing is the best option and re swinging the door from the kitchen into the bathroom to avoid looking into the toilet when doors are open from the kitchen. I feel that the bath and vanity could also be better swapped for this reason. The laundry is very small so keeping that as just laundry for holding dirty washing and adding a linen cupboard would be my choice. This door canthen be kept closed until you need to do laundry, using it as a pantry would mean the door would constantly be open. "Butlers Pantries", these were built in houses that had Butlers or employed someone to clean up/for them, totally a fad these days and a waste of good kitchen space. With the kitchen being small and access to the rest of the house is via it, along with immediate access to both Bathroom and laundry which is not ideal, careful planning in all three areas is vital. Having seen the kitchen in a previous post, I would be keeping the small pantry cupboard facing into the kitchen for any appliances etc 890 x 350 is perfect, you could have drawers to the lower section for food containers and a bench for storing appliances that can be easily lifted out into the kitchen for use, shelves above this with BiFold doors to close off this to section. cheers...See MoreDated city-fringe apartment needs expert advice
Comments (5)before offering any suggestion we need to clarify existing spaces and precise location of doorways and all plumbing...based on available information the floor plan doesn't seem to fit accurately and what are the floors and walls made out of? please confirm or correct all sizes shown on this plan and what will the extra bedroom be used for if you think a study nook should be squeezed into the other space?...See MoreBathroom vanity decision
Comments (8)is the wall behind the vanity 2400 or 1800 and do you need to include a toilet in the room? and by "full length vanity" do you mean a counter that is the same width as the whole wall (2400 or 1800?) and where is the window? ...pending more detail two versions that might be worth considering... but the widthways bath allows more standing room, bigger bath, double vanity with matching wall cabinet, wall spoace for towels and having the vanity hung on the wall instead of standing on the floor allows extra floor space for a waste bin, scales, slippers etc and makes the room feel more spacious and don't forget hooks/racks on the back of the door for clothes and towels..and using standard 1500 wide vanity and 750 wide bath allows for a small gaps besides the vanity that is ideal to hang a hairdryer and this arrangement uses standard sized fixtures...See Moresiriuskey
